He lined the inside of his bass drum with aluminum foil. It was also, at the time, the largest diameter available.

Who was the first band to be signed to Zeppelin's label "Swan Song"? Not LZ, themselves.

    I'm getting confused.

Could just be my natural state, tho. Hard to tell.

    A. "The Long & Winding Road" was written for Tom Jones.

    Q. "Michael" (you know, who "rowed the boat ashore"?) sung by The Highwaymen was based on a folk tune written in the 1800s. "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" by Procol Harum was lifted from a melody written by Johann Sebastian Bach in the 1700s. But neither of these songs is "the oldest" when it comes to rock hits. What's the hit song that contains the oldest lyrics?

I guess this isn't a rock song, but Greensleeves was written by King Henry VIII for Anne Bolyn me thinks.

The music has been used by several people, but I'm not sure about the original lyrics if there were any?? I believe Johnny Mathis did a version of it???

All I know is it's a beautiful song.

I know way too much dumb crap.

    A. Pete Seeger adapted the words to The Byrds' hit "Turn Turn Turn" from the Book Of Ecclesiastes in the Bible. That's old.

    Q. Name these "firsts":
    1. The first musical guest on SNL.
    2. The first CD available in the US.
    3. The first group to be inducted in the R'nR Hall Of Fame.
    4. The first song to be sung in outer space.

Yeah, they tried to scare everybody into buying all new speakers. They implied that the dynamics of digital audio would blow up all the older designs:rolleyes: . I'm glad I didn't fall for that crap. My Smaller Advents handled the "dynamics" just fine and still do to this day. I bought my first cd player in either 82 or 83??? It was a Sharp with 1 laser and 4x oversampling, really hi-tech:rolleyes: . That sumbitch was pricey, too. Hell it worked fine for the time. Haven't purchased a cassette since.:)

2-A. The first commercially available CD in the US was Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run." (But the first commercial CD pressing, done in Japan by Sony, I think, I was in fact Billy Joel's "52nd Street." So you get partial credit.)

    Three to go.

    Okay then, here you go:

1-A. The first musical guest on SNL was Janis Ian.
2-A. The first CD available in the US was "Born To Run."
3-A. The first group to be inducted in the R'nR Hall Of Fame was The Coasters.
4-A. The first song to be sung in outer space... was "Happy Birthday," sung by the Apollo IX astronauts on March 8, 1969, which, coincidentally, was not my birthday.

    Q. Elvis made ONE television commercial. What was it?
