    I went searching the net for one, and couldn't find one. Most likely because if they opened one it woudl immediately be flooded with folks like us bashing Bose. Their moderators would have their hands full... and we know Bose doesn't allow any negative sentiments expressed about their products...
    If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    Not a RS6 but the RS4: http://press.jbskyline.net/R34/R34RS4/

    How the RS4 compares to RS6:

    2003 Speed GT World Challenge - Driver's Standings (after 9 races)

    1 Randy Pobst (Audi RS 6 Competition) 221-points
    2 Bill Auberlen (BMW M3) 209
    3 Phil McClure (Corvette) 187
    4 Mike Fitzgerald (Porsche 911) 186
    5 Hans Stuck (BMW M3) 171
    6 Boris Said (BMW M3) 160
    9 Michael Galati (Audi RS 6 Competition) 135

    2003 Speed GT World Challenge - Manufacturers' Standings (after 9 races)

    1 BMW, 50
    2 Audi, 49
    3 Porsche, 36
    4 Chevrolet, 30

    I guess it is appropriate as a comparison with BMW and Audi, albeit it was an M3, certainly not the M6, but I would gather that the M3 is a "better" car on the track. I hope to see BMW enter the M6 in the GT World Challenge...

    Audis have the best interiors in the business. They're the standard bearers that all the Japanese (Lexus, Infiniti, Acura) try to aspire to.

    BMW's are more fun to drive on dry pavement but for my $ (and living in NC) i would LOVE to have an A4 Quattro.

    There wasn't an M6 in 2003. The 6 series has been recently ressurected.

    If it has all the service records and is in good shape, that's about wholesale value. Black Book Values as of June 27th:

    xtra clean=$23300
    clean=$22100
    avg=$18100
    rough=$13800

    It's my business to know these things. If it's nice, then it's a good buy.

    NOEL

    BTW, Black Book is an auction guide used by virtually every dealer in the U.S. It is regional, but they vary little.

    beardog Unlike the Mercedes S Class- for some reason the 7series has never had good resale value- they don't seem at least to me any more troublesome than a 3 or 5- but it has always been that way for that generation 1997-2001.

    I personally like that 7series better than the new ones- inside and out. Have the car checked out by an independent mechanic and if it suits him and you- then I say go for it. Don't mean to sound preachy but I've grown up with the car business since I was 7 and sold Nissans (tough to do) before up in Wilkesboro- so I'm not just feeding you a line. =)

    sorry just had your post pop up...:rolleyes:

    so this seems like an average deal then..

    I think I`ll take you advise and have a mechanic check it before I make a move..

    It's not going to be Lexus reliability but that's a hell of a lot of car for $18something.

    Just make sure the seller has it's CARFAX. They cost about $20 for a buyer to get online but the seller should've already considered this a selling point and purchased one for himself. Don't forget about the independent mechanic- the sellers mechanic isn't worth squat.

    As far as differences between the 3, 5 & 7 on reliability honestly i don't really know. I bet ND would know. At least he still carries black/bluebooks and prob. NADA's.

    The V8 models are all pretty solid cars. It's all in the previous owner's maintanance routine. Like I said, check to see if the seller has all the service records, if not it would be worth it to take it to a certified BMW tech to have it checked out. That's an awfully good price for that car, so I would definitley do your research on it.

    Get me the entire VIN, you can PM it to me and I'll run it for you in the morning. Leave a fax number and I'll fax it to you. I get the entire report also, it anywhere from 6-8 pages long.

    For you Audi owners.... dare I ask... do you have the Bose soundsystem? I seem to remember it being popular in Audi's

    Friend of mine blew one of his Bose speakers out in his Audi, cost him a fortune to replace because they have the amp built into the speaker or some such nonsense.
    Ludicrous gibs!

    AS an Audi Owner with the opt. bose system. I must admit, that it really doesn't sound bad. REALLY....it doesn't scream replace me like some stock systems do. I hear Levinson's system in the Lexus is Outstanding.....

    Def. Not in all Lexus cars.....

    http://www.marklevinsonlexus.com/

    Mark Levinson, makes, (arguably) some of the best mono, (but not limited to), block amps and audio equip. out there. A "beautique" (sp?) brand if you may.
