Hehe, just as long as you realize the fact if you plug up a 30 watt amp to that receiver, that amp will blow the receiver away. Thats the difference.
There are so many more options used. Sad you won't try them out.
I've bought probally 20+ items off EBay, and ONE has arrived with costmetic problems. MOST Ebayers are there to do an honest sale and make honest money. Would you be afraid to buy from yourself on EBay? Well the majority is just like you.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I emailed Denon and asked about the rating discrepency (why the stamped power consumption didnt add up to the rated power output) and this is the response I got.Dear Aaron,
The rating printed and stamped should be accurate. However, overall power consumption versus total watts delivered does not have a direct correlation.
Things to consider are that the rail voltages for the amps are less than the power voltage coming in and that the power rating is not at all channels driven as your comparison was trying to imply. I hope this helps you out.

So basically the ratings are overblown as theyre not with all channels driven but they arent as bad as I was figuring cause the amount in doesnt necessarily relate to the amount out.
Ya gotta hand it to Denon. Theyre stand up. I bet ya most companies wouldnt have responded to a question like this. Good for them.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Yeah, it does speak well to them that they responded. Though, you still gotta admit - an external amplifier will blow away a receiver anyday!

No doubt a seperate amp rules. I was just pissed that receivers give out rating like they are pretty potent then turns out they cant power ****.
But Id say the $400 Denon would be good for 40-50 watts per channel RMS which I can live with.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
