Dan,
Glad to hear you're moving up to experience your dream speakers!
The guy who bought my Rotel (1065) has also paired it with Dynaudio. I believed it was the Contour series (don't remember which one). He is a movie sound engineer for one of the studios. I supposed he is also heard about the synergy between Rotel and Dynaudio. He came by, and took a listen to my system (I let him watched Gladiator) and he started questioning me about B&K. I have to say that he is not very convinced about his purchase. He commented about the LSi, he thought it sounds great, but I think he got stuck (as many others) with the mass-merchandise stigma of Polk. His comments was, he saw Polk over at Costco. I left him (I was in the middle of cleaning the house) watching the movie for at least 15 minutes. He thought the Polk sounds great because of B&K. Oh well, I let his opinions slide with that impression. He took home the Rotel, and for the next week or so, we emailed back and forth. He is happy with the sound of Dynaudio and Rotel, but he kept nitpicking the features of 1065. Posted several questions on Club Rotel, and the tone is borderline pissed off with Rotel's feature. I feel bad, because I do believe he went through buyer remorse because of his listening session with B&K at my place.
The morale of the story is, don't go around listening to other system, because it might just give you the reasons and rationales to upgrade....:D
Congrats again, can't wait to read your review..!I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
I feel he bought the wrong series of Dynaudio and Rotel to go together.
the rsx1065 being a fantastic receiver is not up to the task to run Contour series Dynaudio speakers. they sound much better driven by Krell and Mark Levinston. Matching again comes into play here.
The Audience line however does go with the receiver lines of Rotel. I decided not to go with the newer rsx1067 as I wanted better dynamics and richer fuller sound quality. this is why I choose the RMB1095 5 channel amp and the rsp1068 preamp.
Features are features. B&k has many of them and as much as I love B&K, I perfer the sound of Rotel over B&K driving Dyanudio Audience series speakers.I can give up my loved notch filter for higher quality sound mated better with my series of speakers. THX also I like alot but again I can give that up 2.
B&K hoever I perfer driving Lsi series speakers and I think you can support my findings.
B&K also does a really good job running Dynaudio. They also sound really good together. Tweeter is dropping B&K and there are some killer deals to be had.. I wasn't intrested.
Tell your friend to buy Krell showcase seperates for his Contour speakers and find the Lsi's attractive he won't . Contour is one of the very best sounding speaker lines in the world at any price.
Again though the Lsi series are such a killer sounding speaker when you match the right wire and power behind them . I for one had no problems being proud of owning them. Even if Cosco and Circuit city sold polk. Tweeter sells polk and I find that cool. I get to install them all the time.

Dan, with the new S2 series and 3 notch filters, it's pretty much clean up the room frequency variances problem. I believe that it is the KEY features of B&K that make a huge improvement in a systemTweeter is dropping B&K and there are some killer deals to be had.. I wasn't intrested.
Really? I don't know that. What is the new replacement brand?I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -

Awesome looking speakers, mantis! I've never seen Dynaudio before, but I love the way the cabinet looks! The whole lots of drivers, narrow, and deep thing makes them look a lot like Energy speakers to me.George Grand wrote: »
