And that right there is why I like my analog tuners.
That is an analog tuner. It has a digital display, and may well use digital frequency synthesis tuning -- but the signal comin' in, goin' through, and comin' out the RCA output jacks is all analog, all the time.
The large empty box aesthetic was far from novel when that tuner was made, too.
This Yamaha CT-610II (which I reckon I posted before) was/is a bit notorious in that regard way back ca. 1977. They do look nice, though, and they're not expensive used -- and they actually sound pretty good. Better than one might think.
