When asking opinoins about a 2 channel amp for my neighbors cerwin vega D9's,the consensus was no amp could make them sound good.Well.....yur wrong ....very wrong,just because their not audiophile speakers dont mean they dont sound good.He added a Parasound hca1000 amp,and man what a difference!Now they sound way more defined...a great rock n roll speaker,and just because its not what you like doesnt mean its not good,personally Im very impressed with the set up,I give most of the credit to the Parasound...great amp,drives these speakers with great effiency...they are 4 ohm ya know!Open your minds...and yur ears!

    and it's all subjective, some of us polkies can only listen to the high-end "good stuff" and be satisfied with the quality of sound. If you like Cerwin Vegas' and how they sound, more power to you, but don't chastise others for what they think. Have fun with your Cerwin Vega D9s,

    Who says whats hi end and whats not,I never chastised anybody,these arent mine anyway!They sound good for what they are,their far from trash!Sometimes knocking pictures off the walls is FUN!You dont have to listen to Brubeck,drink cheap wine and eat molded cheese to have a good perspective on audio!I ride ,build,and race Kawasaki motorcycles,does that mean your Harley is junk...because I dont like them???Well...yea it is,that was a bad example...heck if ya ride anything other than a Kaw,yur below me...:D

    You misunderstood me. I wasn't calling them trash. I was trying to say that IMO you have a right to like whatever you like.

    I'll call those speakers trash, always were and always will be. The amp is just as bad, actually it's the only Parasound amp not worthy of their name.

    As for your bike, I hope you live long enough to learn what good audio sounds like. :rolleyes:

    Frankly, I couldn't care less what you think of me. I'm not here to win a popularity contest nor your approval. You asked for opinions about those speakers and you got them. I based mine on being around audio longer then you've been alive, so pipe down and get your learn on. There is an old saying, If ten people tell you that you are wrong, there's a damn good chance they are right.

    The thing you need to look at is your judgement related to what constitutes good audio. Get yourself down to a real hifi shop, demo a bunch of gear and then see if you still think those speakers are as good as you think they are. There is a big difference between pumping out a lot of noise and quality sound. You need to listen at different levels to truely determine how good a speaker is. How do they sound at low levels, mid levels and loud levels. Once you learn how to listen, there is a right and wrong way, then you can talk about how a speaker sounds.

    I think not,I listen to good audio as long as youve eaten your moldy cheese,drinked your cheap merlot,and put your(you know it all,your better than I) **** nose in the air.Im sure youve own better gear than I ever will,does that make you an expert...NO...HELL NO,what you like is not what everybody else likes,and I never ever said this was great gear,I said it made a huge difference when a good amp was added,oops its not a good amp,you said so...right.I hate hear bashing like this because this is the best my neighbor will ever have,and he's as proud of it as you are with gear,just because you have tons more money in your gear,doesnt mean the rest of us has junk!I'll say it,you are a piece of #$%^ sir,so put that in your mahaganey pipe smoke it...Im sure you have one!

    The speakers suck balls. Junk trash I will also call them.In my opnion that is. But hell like em all you want.Save yourself a ton of cash you will. You should get a pair as well.

    As far as your bike, yeah it's nice but your not the king........ The germans do a better job.

    wow, if that pic was any bigger, I'd think you were compensating for something.

    Anyhow, yes, different strokes for different folks. Some people like to knock pictures off walls (because it's fun and cool to replace picture frames) and other's enjoy the sound of Bose speakers. Who are we to tell them they're tone deaf?

    Look, if you want to come out and say something like.....I listened to these speakers and I found them pleasant to listen to..and here is why...then you probably would have been ok. Hell, we all like different things. For moi, unlike a lot of audiophiles, while I like vinyl, I prefer CD's.

    However, to come out and say: You were all wrong (and I'm right)...well, you are dealing in absolute terms and that WILL generate controversy. Not to mention, it makes you look immature.

    The fact is, a majority, myself included, think those speakers are kabuki. No biggie, if you like them, no worries. I dislike the old Pioneers that some treasure. No big deal.

    However, to come out and make absolute statements is dumb. As far as the vinyl siding....it's not HOW the wind is blowing, it's WHAT the wind is blowing. For protection from flying objects, I'm going with brick.
