no, that sounds just as random and non-sensical as your previous post - and weren't you talking about common sense half an hour ago?

    Dont be a girley-man!

    Arnold RULES!

You just know he's going to run for President. Ted Kennedy (Arnolds uncle-in-law) has already introduced a bill that will ammend the constitution to allow foreign born people be President.

hey, i'm all for that amendment, i think that europeans have a better outlook on life than americans (generalities, of course) - they approach it more calmly, which all of us could use right now.

we're going to pump /clap/ you up...

I am against it. When youre talking about the most powerful position in the world, I want to know the person in it was born in the USA.

I bet Giuliani will run in '08 against Hillary Rotten Clinton.

The $900 mrsp could means the sub wont be backordered by a couple months. This is spl and whoever is louder is king. 173.1 db is somthing to be proud of especially in the large ford truck. I wouldnt mind opening my trunk to show 320oz of magnets. If you think this price is wack the solo x subs cost more. Remember that this sub is only a 12. (beats the 18inch square woot!)

btw how many 5000spl's are in that truck?

there was 9 subs, and 36 amps....

And the subwoofer is actually like a 14" - it has a similar design to ol Ronald's sub over there

spl was actually 173.3 big difference when its that high. Reading this made me think that i might need to use both arms to close that door.

In order to withstand the enormous pressure produced in the truck, steel bars were used to reinforce the frame of the enclosure. The windshield was also replaced and reconstructed with 2-1/2-inch thick plexi-glass. Each door of the truck weighs more than 200 pounds and utilizes 1” x 2” aluminum hinges to hold it in place. To prevent air leaks, crucial in competition, the air inside the truck is vacuum-sealed much like a bank vault. The truck holds 36 amplifiers, 72 16-volt Turbo Start batteries and three Ohio Generator 285-amp alternators and produces 115,200 watts of power.

those arent pioneer amps are they?

It has 10 mm Xmax, although I'm sure Xmech is much higher. It uses a long gap long coil motor, so I guessing BL related distortion would be pretty high at loud volumes. Is this common with SPL subs?

Distortions wont matter if your gunna be deaf in a couple seconds hahahahahha, actually not funny  :p:D Im pretty sure it could make lots of clean volume cause it held over 166db of music for 5mins. Mostly distortion could be elimanated by lowering the volume around 3-4 db's from max output. We want you listening for a lifetime.

 <--- too loud for this dude

actually, spl subs are built to take extreme amounts of power and convert it to extreme amounts of sound; it doesn't really matter how good it sounds in the interim. any sub sounds decent when it's quiet, linearity is very high at low excursions. sq subs keep this linearity for longer excursions, and spl subs just keep going... and going... and it really doesn't matter how they sound. there are sql subs, and they try to do both, but they're expensive as all get out, i believe - consider the eclipse titanium series. so, gatemplin is right.

hey, don't forget Adire... they've pulled off SQL within the <$400 price range for the 10 and 12, the 15 still has mad sq and it's only $440 (hmmm... speaking of that i wouldn't mind dropping a 440 in my truck.... now that's some power... GO MOPAR!!!)

speaking of the truck that brings up an interesting story from this weekend... me and my buddy were toolin around through downtown heading to see a movie (ladder 49, one of the best movies i've ever seen, i reccomend it fully) he's got a Z-34(i think that's the right number... not sure) cavalier and i've got a 99 Dakota sport (v6) and this dork in a turbocharged 80's mitsubishi decided that he wanted to race us... firstly he couldn't pull ahead of me which i found greatly amusing... but the best part was the puff of steam and smell of radiator fluid coming from his car as he pushed that little thing as hard as he could... my bud and i laughed our asses off... when i got up next him at the light, i got his attention and said "judging by the smell i think you blew a radiator hose!" he looked so friggin embarassed... It was the funniest thing i've seen in a while :D

ummm... the website's linked or you can just go to www.pioneerelectronics.com and look up the model of sub. there should be a downloadable PDF file with all the details... hell it's what the rest of us do when we want to know what a manufacturer says....

    ***Correction***

actually with pioneers site you just have to click on the tab that says specifications and it's on there... i know what it is now but i'm not gonna hold your hand, sometimes ya gotta start learning for yourself so find the site and look it up... hell do you have any idea how many times i've had to google a manufacturer to find their website cause they have to use wierd addresses?? e.g. eclipse is www.eclipse-web.com not exactly something that you'd think of off the top of your head... so time to swim ronnieboy, either that or we can point and laugh as you sink to the rocky bottom ;) jk
