The dark horse is the best MONDERN Mustang to date IMO. I didn't know there was a convertible option.

I drove the Dragon last year in November. What a blast!

    Nice pics Dan.

The Dragon is a car handling lovers dream. It's really fun even for a 1/4 mile drag racer like myself. After driving the 2024 Porsche 911 and the 2024 Mustang, I'm starting to feel a need for a better handling car. It's such a wide gap between the GT and the 911 but so is the price tag.

    Which 911 did you try?

You should be looking at the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0.

2024 Porsche 911 Carerra T. This is me driving away from the front of our Hotel and my Wife standing off to the side which she video taped me leaving the parking lot as well.
It was an incredibly fast super well balanced basically perfect sports car. Porsche perfected the 911 and this is one hell of an example. Twin Turbo Charged V6 engine.qjqjhcu4albi.jpeg

    Would you care to elaborate?

On paper at least, compared to the GT, for the extra $15-20K in price you only get a 1s reduction 0-60, and the same 12.5s quarter mile with just a 1 mph improvement to 115.

Doesn’t mean that there aren’t legitimate reasons. 😉

I'm not only interested in straight line speed. Its a Mustang that can handle corners.

I like just about everything Porsche Makes. I'm not into Electric cars so that is out for me. But the 911 Carerra T was amazing. I have driven 911's in the past, just a few years ago I had a 911 Carerra 4S at the house and I was al wheel drive and very fast. It was also convertible and super fun to drive. I didn't bond with that car like I did with the Carrera T, something very special about this new model.

Here's a shot of the 911 Carerra 4S all wheel drive I had here. My wife actually loved driving it.

I am also a big fan of Porsche. I was close to pulling the trigger on a 718 4.0 a couple of months ago and getting rid of the M2. Nice cars…

The M2 isn’t supposed to be too shabby in its own right… 😜

    Awesome pics, Dan! 🤩

Your wife looks totally at ease at the wheel of the 911, maybe she deserves it? 😜

One of my kids is really into F1 and cars in general, so now that he’s 18, we’ve promised him the Porsche Driving Experience here in L.A. as soon as we can arrange it on our schedules.

Oddly, perhaps, he adores our 17 year old Mercedes-Benz E350, which I would describe as a supreme cruiser, but very far from a tight handling car in the twisties. It’s competent and predictable, but not particularly adept at cornering fast. It’s only worth about $5,000 now used, so he knows it’s his when he gets out of college (nowhere to park it on campus).

I also want to get him a winter driving course to understand how to handle RWD cars on snow or ice.

HUGE fan of Porsche here! I've told everyone that the next car I buy will be a Carerra 4S not sure what chassis yet (the one I can afford :D ). The 718 RS 4.0 is on my radar but its a bit (WAY) out of my current price range lol.

    Nice gift!

I've thought about trying the PDE in Atlanta as it's only a few hours away.

I almost accidentally bought a 2009 BMW 3 series Sports Wagon for our home away from home project a couple of years ago (it just happened to be the best available choice at the time). I was really impressed by the handling prowess compared to our Mercedes-Benz. It’s definitely a different driving philosophy, including the chassis and the transmission. BMW and Porsche are the two brands that I have on my radar currently for recent, off-lease used purchases.

The reason for the PDE is that I encourage him to never drive like a maniac in regular traffic situations. The financial consequences for moving violations (insurance) are too substantial, but I also want him to be able to experience high speed and handling at a high level in the proper environment, and understand the difference between a Camry V6 and a Porsche or a BMW V6.

She use to drive my 1987 Buick Grand National and handled that with ease so the Porsche she felt right at home.
