Star Trek - Strange New Worlds, Season 1

I'm liking this series a lot. Much more like classic Trek. Not like that virtue signaling, Discovery woke mess with Mikey Spock and different timelines that ruined the potential for the new movies. I kinda liked the first one, but the other 2 fell apart IMO. SNW is more like TOS. I've only watched 3 episodes, but I'm liking these so far. The first season is free to watch on youtube right now if ya haven't seen it.

I saw the first season of Picard and was a fan of the Next Gen series, but this was another flop that I couldn't get into either. As much as I like Jeri Ryan too, these stories were just missing something. It's a Trekkie thing, I suppose. Anywhooo, here's the yt link and a playlist for Season 1 of SNW. Enjoy! ;)

Just finished Episode 10 the other day. It gets rather epic towards the end. I'll keep my mouth shut. There is only one episode in the bunch that I almost couldn't watch and the rest were very good. Now I'm hooked though and I'm sure Season 2 won't be free. Clever bastids.

I agree with you @Keiko completely. I like the episodic format much better than I thought I would. I liked Discovery at first but if fell off for me in the second season. Wanted to like Picard but it was Meh.

I enjoyed discovery overall but the latter seasons definitely became preachy and agenda filled

I'll have to check this season out

There were some good things about Discovery that paid homage to TOS, but I dunno. They lost me when they went with the woke agenda and when the federation became communistic.

Watched a couple more episodes this evening and my spider senses are tingling. I'm picking up some alphabet soup group inclusiveness stuff going on here. Disappointing if the show goes down this rabbit hole. It doesn't need to go there. Don't ruin it! And that's all I'm going to say.

Nice, I have not been a huge fan of the newer Star Trek stuff either. I've been a Star Trek fan all of my life and enjoyed all the previous shows with Next Generation being my favorite . Voyager was very strong for more reasons than 1 LOL.

Anyway thanks for sharing , I'm going to watch this.

FWIW, Star Trek Picard Season 3 is excellent. Very different than the first two seasons. Patrick Stewart was told hands off, so no woke preachy crap.

I enjoyed the first episode and enjoyed some of the shout outs to the original series. They likely won't revisit The Trouble with Tribbles though...

This was the concert where Picard bit the head off of a Tribble.

^^^ looks more like Big T (Peter Dennis Blandford Townshend). ;)

Mind you -- I think that Townshend's the single greatest rock 'n' roller of them all... but he is gettin' a little up in years for that stuff.

On topic. Yeah. Tribbles. And the Harry Mudd (deftly over-played by Roger C. Carmel) episodes. B)

I've liked all of the new series, although Picard has been the hardest to get excited about IMO. I don't let an irrational fear of wokeness get in the way of my enjoyment, even if it can be somewhat intrusive at times. Same with Ted Lasso S3.

SNW has been excellent Loved the entire 1st season except for that one episode where they are all in a medieval setting on the ship. It was just too whack for me. And the 1st episode of season two is great !!! More of this please !!

I absolutely loved the original series , TNG , Voyager DS9. 3rd season if Picard was wonderful as a proper send off for the original TNG !! I highly recommend if you are a TNG
    Fan!!

Discover lost me really after about midway thru. I enjoyed the crap outta Pike , etc coming back so glad they made it a separate series !!

It’s the best and only real good Trek on TV right now

Here’s hoping if they do any more Trek shows they are more like SNW and less like Discovery !!!

I concur. I never let one's irrational wokeness get in the way of anything I enjoy. In fact, it's entertaining sometimes watching these toads make jackasses of themselves. ;)

The "fan-made" Star Trek Continues on You Tube is not too bad if anyone has not seen it. They did a pretty good job at re-creating the original series feel. They made eleven episodes.

    Here'e the Teaser...
