I haven't exercised a minute, since leaving the Army in April 1997. This is gonna hurt.

Nice, Steve! I used to dismiss home workout gear because most people start off strong, and then drop off after a few weeks. I got a glideboard trainer like your Total Gym about 6yrs ago and I still use it regularly. Some of the best money I've ever spent.
Also added adjustable dumbbells, Swiss ball, Perfect Pushup, and a squishy roll up mat for stretching and stuff. That stuff and riding my bike helps me to keep in decent shape.
I used to go to the gym, but it just got to be such a hassle with my schedule, and I found it more difficult to maintain consistency with my other responsibilities.
With a glideboard trainer, all you need to do is say, I'll just start off easy, and if I feel like doing more, I will. Well, once you get yourself moving, it's perpetually motivating and fun, and you want to keep doing more. You can get a nice supersetty workout in in about 20 minutes.
I hope you enjoy it!
Then go pick some fights with some kids to test your strength.I disabled signatures. -
Good for you and hopefully you find a program you like and stick with it. In my case I just could not imagine going 24 years without cardio or weights. Heck I'm not happy that I have to take tomorrow off because of my 4 1/2 hour journey to Audio Classics. Carrying a couple of 80lb+ amps out to the car and into AC will be it for me for tomorrow

Thanks fellas. I've been blessed with a slim build my whole life, so it doesn't take me long to get past the soreness, etc. Bev & I have been walking extensively, daily, since we quit smoking back in Oct 2020. Careful, Steve, I'm pretty sure that's the specific model Total Gym (please read the owner's manual closely) that if you are to miss two consecutive days of working out Chuck Norris will come by and deliver a perfect round house to your left temple. And there's nothing you can do about it! Enjoy!

Very nice! As said above, consistency is the key to getting and staying fit.Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Quitting smoking was one of the hardest things for me, but glad I did. You're going to feel a lot better, Steve. I waited too long tho and developed COPD after smoking for 40+ years. Time to pay the fiddler.

I smoked for 40+ years. Quit December 2016 but it was too late for me. I was tapped by the widowmaker, and had to have all new plumbing installed. Have your Doc make sure your ticker can handle it, and as Shia LaBeouf would say, just DO IT! Seriously though, get your form right first, then ease ito itHome Theater/2 Channel:
