small bookies

no taller than 12" or deeper than 10".....no wider than 16". These are for a secondary rig so turning a bookie on its side, while not advisable, not a show stopper. Anything out there?

How good a speaker are you looking for, and any budget constraints?

This is for a secondary, general listening system. I will have a pair of Polk 5 monitors to move along after I find something.

Maybe a set of RT25i or Signature S15? I can speak for the RT25i. Pleasing signature, and good performer for its size.

Powered monitors of some sort, maybe?
I've been very pleasantly surprised by some of the stuff out there.

I agree that the superzeros are excellent little speakers, but two caveats: 1. they need good power behind them to not sound shrill, and 2. they have to have a sub to not sound very thin. But set up properly, they sound surprisingly good...

The Monitor 4 Peerless is surprisingly good with unbelievable bass for its size with a front port. I just measured mine and they are 14 inches high approximately. But if you are replacing a pair of Monitor 5s they are smaller and I think the Peerless Monitor 4 is a better speaker. Cheap and really easy and inexpensive to upgrade the crossover too.
