I'm sure a lot of you have seen the meme of the wife and husband having a conversation that goes something like this:

Wife: Now that we're married, you can start reducing your [insert hobby item here] collection.
Husband: You're starting to sound like my ex-wife.
Wife: I didn't know you have an ex-wife.
    Husband: I don't...yet.

My wife, who is an excellent musician with an excellent ear, can tell the difference between the TV speakers and my Yamaha/Polk 5.1 system...but she doesn't care which one she listens to!

Believe it or not, most musicians are like that.

A few years ago I took the wife on a trip to buy a pair of HPM 100 speakers and then travel to a prime solar eclipse viewing spot in the Tennessee mountains. We were treated by the seller to an audition of his perfectly setup K-horns. She was amazed, blown away by them. Since then, wifey has asked at least three times when I'm going to bring home a pair of "those big corner speakers". We have a big house but truthfully don't have an appropriate room for them without serious acoustic treatment (too many windows or openings or short walls or....).

She has asked when I will start thinning the hoard. My normal replies are a) when she gives me time to work on something in my shop and b) when the honey-do list is finished.

Perhaps it was the proximity to the Dyson dust-buster that threw her.

Very generous! The DK-110 plinth might help seal the deal ;)

In the end, I'm looking for a tt (and plinth) to accommodate a Micro Seiki MA-505L tonearm. Hopefully, this will achieve the goal.

Back in the day, I had a DP-75 platter, enjoyed it very much but sold it in ‘84 when I went back to school. Ran it with a SME arm

So since the kids started living with me when Jackie and I moved in together, they go to other peoples' houses and partake in the audio journeys over there.

Then, apparently, they complain to Jackie that the audio experience was lacking and they had to turn the TV up too loud to be able to hear everything.

They have also complained about how lacking the system is at their dad's house and they all use Bluetooth headphones to play video games and watch movies.

When I came home with a pair of Polk S8 for free and she said, "Oh those are much smaller than your other ones. Now you can get rid of those."

"Those" are my RTA-11TLs that I have had since new and have since mod'd. I don't think so.

    Last half, totally agree.
