Dr Francis Boyle himself called this a bioweapon with gain of functions introduced via gene editing technique pShuttle-SN found in its genomic sequence by an Indian lab.
I don't believe the author of the US Bioweapons Act would make this statement lightly.

Making political hay out of any crisis is pretty much the standard in American politics. In an election year, it's a gimme. The sun coming up could be a political thing.

Anyway, most just sift through that manure to deal with the real issues at hand. Take precautions, but don't be stupid either. Don't be hanging out , if your older, in bars with loud music. The person talking to you usually has to get close to your face to talk, and spit on ya. :)

Very true Tony, but I recall after 9/11, members of Congress on both sides of the aisle sang God Bless America on the Capitol steps. That was truly a unifying moment for our Country.

I find the political discourse of blaming and complaining about the Administration's effort disgusting. The government's response toward this issue, right or wrong, effective or ineffective, you decide, but we all should be working together. People that wasting energy not helping the issue, should be helping and working together.

Retail has been asked to close down ? Are they going to adjust the taxes they have to pay ? Rent ? Bet not.

How will those employees live and pay their own rents/mortgages, food, living expenses ? If they move on to other jobs, those retailers once this is over will be in deep do-do.

I think the scariest part of this is the medicines we need to combat this bug are all coming from China, and their state run media is making the threat that they will stop sending them here. Thus the real question... Why is all of our capacity to manufacture antibiotics sourced to a country that places so little value on human life, and how did it get to be that way?

We are to deeply tied to China, and if we have learned anything from this virus, we will fix that little problem ASAP.

Good question for our corporate elite. Whom by the way own our government.

Most these drugs and ingredients referred to are generics. All these have moved offshore as the profit margins are not there.

It's just not medicine either, we've become way too dependent on China for numerous things in our supply chain. Mostly because of the cheap labor that enables them to undercut everyone else. Makes us look like big fat hypocrites huh.

Either bring the important stuff back home, or at the very least spread it out to other countries so we can't be held hostage. That's called not keeping all your eggs in one basket, a lesson learned long ago and needs to be re-taught today.

Add Canada to the list of folks with an isolated agent.

Additionally, there's now 2 strains identified of COVID-19. The main Wuhan one which is most prevalent and virtually all the cases in China and then a 2nd one with enough mutations that it's already showing reduced aggressiveness and subsequently less severe symptoms.

Also, Trump is going to declare a federal state of emergency at 3pm today to invoke the Stafford Act. The main reason being is that the Stafford Act allows the federal government to circumvent a good deal of roadblocks and red tape to get relief funds and supplies in the hands of state and local authorities faster so they combat the emergency faster.

    That's a good thing.
