So I'm a little surprised these are still here, but certainly understand the apprehension if you did not know the inside story of how the seller got them. Lot's of views (now 5 by verb)!

I’d be more than happy to pick them up and hold them for ya, Dave! Course, I’d have to open them up and make sure all is well. I’d even begin the ‘break in’ process to help a buddy out! ;)

Take as long as you need to come pick them up!

They are so poorly set up. It is no wonder he is moving them along, as they never had a chance.

Wouldn't the side wall sound barriers effectively render the SDA signal DOA?

Well, some members attended what was supposed to be a sponsored launch get together and pretty much everyone there from the forum weren't really impressed. But those opinions turned into some members getting personal vs some other members so those who attended, even after expressing their opinions, felt that it wasn't going to matter anyway so they gave up on doing any kind of formal review for fear of personal attacks and insults.

Member @mpitogo also bought a pair. He hasn’t been visiting (not logged in anyway) for a while. I think he posted some commentary in [This Thread], but it’s fairly long, so it will be necessary to wade through it a bit.

Yes :) I am extremely happy with the L800's,My Miss's loves them also !
The better the recording ,room setup, cables and power the better the vibe ! If you love sda's you'll love the L800's and their wide micro dynamics.Nice flat tweeter response helps with my some what bright room as well.Mine are currently running at 2000hrs + hours and being set up at the centre of my home , if wanted ,can easily pressurise the entire house nicely and no nodes.

Music Direct has had an 'Open Box' pair for quite some time now. They are usually willing to negotiate, I'm sure this pair could be had for less than advertised.

My guess is more pairs of the L800s would sell if the retailers were allowed to knock even ten percent off the MSRP occasionally. It's a psychological sales thing. People don't want to feel like a sucker for paying full sticker price on something expensive. :)

On that note, Crutchfield and many other retailers have the L600 on sale for $500 off (-$250 off each) for a pair.

    https://www.crutchfield.com/p_107L600WN/Polk-Audio-Legend-L600-Brown-Walnut.html?tp=185

I wonder if sales were slow, inventory collecting dust prompted the discount? I really don't need an answer. Still, the L600 & L400 would be a welcome combo for many but at the $5300 retail price there's tons of competition.
