    A few of us visited the KLH room last year at Apoxona and were impressed with what we heard at thier price point. I believe Ivan and Brian and a few others of us were in there at the same time. It was a pair of floorstanders probably easy to find a dealer in the Chicago area that sells them.

    I thought about the LSI9's, since I have a beefy amp to drive them, but people are asking 703 kinda money for the 9'S.....crazy. Looking for some used Dali Zensor 3's, hard to come by. The 1's would be too small.

    @tonyb I have always opted for floor standers as the subtend the same footprint as bookies on stands. I do have a pair of 703's on stands but for the life of me I can't tell you why.

    The last set of Monitor Audio speakers i heard were a bit bright for my taste. I haven't heard the silver 6 though.

    Although a couple of years ago i did hear a set of MA speakers driven with some tubes that i did enjoy. I wish i could remember the model number. I do not think they were silvers.

    Tom....what I need is something that is a bookie or floorstander, can play fairly loud, but also throw out some good sound. Otherwise I'd just buy some CV's off of craigslist and be done. Have to be fairly cheap, under 5 bones too as I'm staring down tens of thousands in medical bills. Put it more into perspective for ya ?

    I have the Dali Zensor 3's on the list, Lsi 9's, LSIM703's, along those sound signatures. I have the Sig. 20's in the HT, so maybe something other than the Polk sound for the other system. Also I'm looking local mostly as shipping in that price range will eat up a lot of that 5 bones. Amazon has one pair of the Dali's, in white, with free shipping but I'm not so sure on the white. I have a B&k AMP to drive them, so power isn't a concern either.

    Other suggestions welcome, as you can see...….no tipped up top end need apply. No ear bleeders, no fatigue after 10 minutes of listening.
