I don't have a heat pump and can't recall whether the furnace was actually running when I took my measurements.

Not much new to report. Numbers are staying in 2 consistent ranges. Reading are good with Heat off and not good when Heat is on.

I have been trying to listen to my system in both states to see if I can tell a difference. I almost wish the EMI meter had a volume control. I would like to leave it plugged in but turn down the volume while listening.

I'll have numbers to publish next week.

Heat pumps/AC will be 240V. So it will be wired to both panels.

I wouldn't worry about it. When my AC comes on I can hear it humming outside. Never measured the actual dB increase but I am sure it would be much louder than the small loss in clarity you will get from impure power.

FWIW, the high efficiency heat pumps (e.g., Mitsubishi H2I) aren't 230V -- at least ours isn't.

I’m compiling my results. Seems like I just had two conditions. Good results without A/C running and not so good readings when it was running. I’ll post findings over the weekend with details.

Something else the group may want to test are the different outlets on the back of your power conditioners. I have one piece of gear plugged in per receptacle on the back of my Furman ref20i so I was able to quickly check and compare all 6 zones. Surprisingly they all measured different with the high current zone measuring the best. The further away from the conditioner's power cord I got the worse it measured. In some cases it was twice the emi as the next zone. This makes no sense to me as my thinking is the emi should be filtered out more as it moves into the lower current outlets. I'd be interested to see if my measurements are an isolated case.

Will do. I have 2 types of conditioners designed to work in tandem as one unit. Four sets of outlets within a 12"x12" area.

Just checked the USPS tracking # and the meter will arrive tomorrow.

Received the meter, yesterday. Thanks...Todd, for forwarding and Dave, for the opportunity to use this (@tratliff/@verb). Completed initial tests on my main system (see sig) over the past hour and will post findings/conclusion after several days of additional readings. Will say right off this thing is pretty cool.

I am still collecting my thoughts and will post soon when work is not taking every hour. My work has sent us to work from home for the next two weeks. That doesn't work very well for what I do. Spent about 10 hours today on calls.

I got the unit. I have been working late this past week getting 2k folks who never have Wfh mobile to wfh. Been stressful but, got 1500 done this week. I will have a shot to check it out in a couple days.

Sorry I have not posted sooner. Work has been crazy. In the past 2-3 weeks, the company I worked for stepped up!. We got over 4000 people working from home, provided laptops or hotspots for people who didn't have internet, and not a single layoff. Even the cleaning crew still got to come into an empty building and do extra cleaning. We also started doing "virtual" new hire training and took on 20 new people so, I have been crazy busy since i am on the IT side within the company.



Enough excuses!! In the livingroom rig, plugged into a panamax I have a sony TV, cable box, bluray, PS audio DSJR, and T+A intigrated. The EMI fluctuated between 25.7 and 30.4. Plugged into the wall without a power conditioner or filter, I get 47.9.

On my den rig, Kef ls50w, cayin scd50T, lumin d1 , sbooster , all into a late 90's DJ style Powerwerks 2020, i get 27.8. Same rig but add a MIT predator box , it goes down to 23-24. Bounces between the 2 numbers.

Same rig as above but swap out the old Powerwerks 2020 for a PS Audio Detect. Same results 27.8 and drops with the MIT predator to 23-24.

I am in a townhouse built in 1970. I guess I am very lucky on my power line noise in a acoustically challenged ( room wise) home.

@Thorton I have to see if the post office is still open to be able to ship or what their hours are.
