Guys, I am not at all a religious person but I am asking those that are to send some my mothers way. She went in yesterday morning for a gastric sleeve, gall bladder removal and hernia repair. Went through months of batteries of tests to be declared fit for surgery. Woke up in recovery and was talking and fine. She got up to walk and crashed hard. They made the decision to take her back to the OR and pulled 4 liters of blood from her abdomen. She has been fighting for the last 24 hours with more bad then good.....she is listed in critical condition and continues to make very slow progress. What was thought to be a routine surgery has been anything but. She is a fighter through and through and one of the most loving people I have ever met. She is surrounded by loving friends and family. Please, if you feel so inclined, send some prayers her way. She sure could use all the help she can get.

    I will keep her and your family in my prayers... and offer to you that perhaps he is using this time to open your heart to his grace. I am not religious in the sense of belonging to a particular faith, but I do believe in God. Maybe that is all you need to do.

    Very long night, but she is still with us. We truly received a miracle. They extubated her in the middle of the night. She is awake and knows that she coded.....but she is still losing blood and they can not locate the source. She is receiving another unit of blood and going to CT scan. There are a few options - worst case would be going back to the OR. But we have to do whatever the experts say. Nice thing is she is awake and able to help make the decisions on her own instead of us making them for her. After what she went through and what the prognosis was 36 hours ago, it is a miracle. Thanks all for their prayers and thoughts.
