Picked up some 5b's for a song. Cabinets are rough but they sound nice. They have the rosewood vinyl, which never seemed as popular. My basement shop is starting to have an @Tony M vibe going... :#

I just talked myself down from getting in on the Zu Audio Omen Dirty Weekend sale at noon today (mountain time).

Anyone here have experience with Zu speakers?

I picked up a pair last March and I really like them. They took a while to grow on me as they sound different than the rest of my speakers (all SDAs). I have them set up in a simple 2 channel configuration at the moment. To my ears they sound best with Jazz, acoustic, live recordings. I am terrible at describing how music sounds. They regularly put a smile on my face.

They are also very easy to drive. I have used an old NAD integrated and Adcom GFA-535 in the past. Right now they are being driven by the AkitikA GT-102 kit that I built last weekend. They sound great on each.

Each conductor is 14awg, so a single wire configs is 11awg.

4 14ga wires twist two together equal 11 gauge cable

    https://www.wirebarn.com/Combined-Wire-Gauge-Calculator_ep_42.html

I use the same cable I buy mine from Have inc. they will match or beat any price on the internet. The last time I bought any from them they beat the price I linked to them. My price was .79¢ a foot, I bought a 100 feet. I use it as one cable per side four 14ga cables twisted together are an 8ga cable.

Signal cables "ultra" cable are two cables of Canare 4s6 which are 4 x 20ga cables. They take all solid colors for one side and all translucent for the other side. So you have half (left or right) of the signal going through both cables. I thought about that but it was much easier to just use one 4s11 for left or right then zip tie together. Works great!!

I have been a early adapter of the Fluance line, these signatures replaced an older pair of the SX (now called elite line) Towers and with the right/proper source and power these boys can fill any medium to large room. They will over power a small room, they need room to breath. The Crown XLi 1500 is just the right amount of power to keep them sounding clean from low volume to house party levels.

Today I made the arduous 10 hour round trip to Audio Classics to pick up 3 of my units that needed servicing. The mc2255 replaced the 10 wpc t amp that had been filling it's spot for waaayy to long.....now that was an upgrade.
