What speakers are these?

So it appears we have three distinct models, and a revision of the C, early and late production. It's unfortunate the people that designed and built them are no longer with the company. Kim & Ken can only remember or dig up so much for us.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Ok I might throw a wrench in the works with this... SL2K with a fuse... Marked 12B... Pics soon.

The 12c as I can tell still has a 12b board with a piece of white tape or something over the "B" on the board.
Is the board marked 12b or is the serial number on the cup 12b? I think the serial number would hold more water as far as 12b vs 12c. -
As I see it there are 2 versions of 12b. Both schematics were drawn 11/26/84. One with a fuse and one with a poly.
If you have a fuse and a sl2000 ( if the sl2k was oem) maybe you have a very early 12c.
If not then I'd guess someone before you put the sl2k in there.
But again I'd go by your serial number vs what type of tweeter or what the x over board shows. -
Ok here's what I got:
I had to look 3 times at the SL2K, the way it was mounted and the way it was wired/soldered. The joints appear original (not cleaned or resoldered), there are no screw marks in the unused plate holes that would indicate that it ever held any other tweet... The right channel is the same. -
Keep in mind, rumor has it, a certain herb was consumed in great quantities in the assembly area back in the day. Probably in in other areas of Polk as well.
I've certainly come across some interesting combinations of parts, with all the crossovers I've done.Home Theater/2 Channel:

and left (Yellow label on SL2000)

I finally plugged them in and had about 20 minutes with them. They seemed....nice. The tweeter seemed held back, and there was considerably less bass in some track than others. I played via Foobar 24/96 tracks : Sarah McLaughlin Surfacing Analouge Productions Vinyl Rip, 24/96 The Beatles White Album (2018) a few tracks from Rhianna Anti, and 24/44.1 of Melody Gardot. There was definitely a lot going on, but even my wife said the sound seemed held back and bass lacking. I was using my Denon 4800 in Direct Mode.

See, your xovers have diff caps than my 12b. And your 12c serial numbers. You have actuall 12c. Still not sure what's up with @FestYboy speakers. Lol -
Thanks everyone for the fun ride on this. I still have to clean these up a bit more and figure out how to clean out the grilles. I would like to play them a little more and change out the amp powering them (didn't realize they were 4ohm speakers) and then figure out if there is anything I can do to improve the sound.
