Perhaps there is a member of the Polk Forum in your area? Someone on the AVSForum maybe? There’s got to be someone in your neck of the woods that belongs to the hi-fi community.

You aren't too far from Sonner Audio.

The Sonner Audio site says nothing about Polk Audio products. Unless i am missing something? They do list Sonner dealers but the dealers listed are the ones i frequent often. As often as yesterday actually.

Both places that are close to me frown and shrug off any mention of Polk speakers when i bring them up for discussion. So i don't even mention Polk to them anymore.

I have listened to a few of high end systems that they have hooked up on any given day and some are very, very impressive SQ wise but, my system puts many of their so called higher priced systems to shame"IMHO". And that is from following the advice of many folks on this site!!! Kudos to you all!!!
C'est la vie is all i can say. Thanks for the link though!

@Clipdat mentioned that the high end sounded better to him after ~ 30 hours. I passed 40 hours today. No discernible difference at this point to me or my wife but I will say that they sound very, very good overall ;)

Interesting. Yeah with my 703s that weird incoherent/unsure quality that the tweeters had went away around the 30-40hr mark.

I'm glad yours are continuing to sound good. Maybe you'll notice some changes at the 100 hour mark. Or maybe never. Bottom line is it doesn't matter as long as they're sounding good!

I had to replace one of my 705s up front, and for the first couple of weeks, the speaker sounded fine, but somehow made it location a bit more apparent that it should have been. Eventually it blended with the others to form a seamless sound field, as it should. The changes during break-in are subtle but real and change slowly. Be patient.

Nothing wrong, just a bit of distortion, that went away with time.

As to the original 705 that I needed to replace, there was very obvious harmonic distortion coming from the mid-bass driver that would stop if you touched it. See attached jpgs for the good right and bad left 705s. Polk replaced the driver, but the distortion was still there. Polk decided that it was likely a leak in the mid-bass driver compartment that spoiled the acoustic suspension loading of the driver, hence allowing it to move outside of its linear range. Polk chose to replace the whole speaker, which I greatly appreciated. e9qlhc7kxsy6.jpg
