Finally found a curio cabinet worthy of my man cave. Displaying my Cox Shrike collection! The yellow one is identical to what I received as a kid for my birthday.

I was terrible at Missile Command but I always played it if it was in the arcade.

The first time I played Tempest was on an Atari Jaguar. The console nobody bought.

Ditto (and FWIW). That, and Astereoid were among the few games that enjoyed enough to spend money to play (poorly). :|

Another one bites the dust, hey, hey! Another one bites the dust!

    I hated that game.

Give me Pin-ball tables. I could play for hours on 4 quarters!

We have a pinball table in the youth room at our church. I stink. My friend can rack up scores of above 9,999 (that’s as high as the scoreboard will go) after that, it kind freaks out, and we’d have no idea how high the score is.

I worked with a guy in 1979 from Egypt who played Missile Command to the point it was like he was addicted to it. He would come to work early and leave late, and eventually got so good he could just keep going and going. His family business needed him to help run it when his father passed away, and he went back home, and the Missile Command machine didn't get played much and one day, it was gone.
My game of choice was "Death Race", where you ran over Gremlins with a "THUMP" and they screamed and a cross would pop up where they were hit. I was one of the two "masters" at it and I was beyond pissed when parents complained about it and it was removed from the movie theater I played it at. At 21 kills, we were just getting started. We were usually in the mid 50's and I had 74 once.

Bone Cracker. That's funny in bad way. Like Death race, the movie was. I still have a hard time trying to watch that movie. :(

It looks like an F1 racecar you drove too. :)

Which was your usual chocolate milk mix growing up? Or did you buy it ready made from your dairy? We usually had Hershey's Syrup, Nestle's Quik or Ovaltine. Yoo-Hoo is ready mixed and has whey, it was probably kind of rare around the Plains in the 60's. I probably missed a few others, like store brands. I threw in the Root Beer mix for Jesse.ntlqevwp0adw.jpg

Nestle's Quik. I couldn't drink much because I can't drink milk. I had to usually drink Swiss Miss with water. It was about as good as you would imagine.

I still have this cup somewhere.

We used to play this at my old school before I was homeschooled, until someone got hurt and ruined it for the rest of us. He was just as sad as we were, but when you get hit in the face and are given a bloody nose, your parents generally complain.
