Haha, all good buddy. I had to laugh at my own dumb **** for not verifying size before I ordered.

Almost the size of a beer can, i stood in silence for a min when I saw them. Lol

Usually those things are caught when mentioned around here. I was like cool, someones trying something new, can't wait for the review.

Wonder if it's a marketing thing or if all the extra size does something for quality.
-
No marketing gimmick its all about the windings.

Going to start the mod next weekend, wife will murder me if i start a project on mother's day weekend.

Some of em got a heap o stuff wound up in there.. -
I believe it, they are heavy to match the size.

Does this look like a good crossover layout? I am thinking of having a circuit board printed out for the cap replacement.

there is nothing there. -

There is no need for the poly switch IMHO hopefully that will be a resistor in its place.
-
Correct, I labled it poly switch so that it matches the RTA 11T drawing since thats what the board maker will follow. How does the layout look? See any issues?
-
Or if you're going with all these exotic just build an outboard crossover box. That's what I did with a pair of Tannoy's and it looked beautiful as well. I did the top of it with dark plexi
-
That sounds like it looks cool but not sure the little woman would go for it. As it is i already have a strick building code in the house lol
-
How did your crossovers end up working out? I just got a pair of 5Bs with a bad driver and since I am in them I want to 86 the safety switch and replace resistors and cap but I don't want to do anything major like build an aux board for new caps or an external unit, I just want the most affordable and easiest to implement. I am also sticking the the SL2000s for now and might do the 194s down the road but not a concern at the moment.

Im still working on these, got a quote on the printed board and it was pricy so im just going to use a peice of hardwood. Started laying everything out this weekend but im brushing up on my solder technique since its been a while and looking rough. Considered using a barrier strip just to hear them for now but i could not find any in my junk drawers. If you want to keep cost down, a tweeter upgrade is cost effective and made an audible difference to me.

FR4 or an acrylic board would be a better choice than a hardwood board.Political Correctness'.........defined
