Nissan's been getting a bad rap lately.
Not sure why that is (i.e., what 'happened').

Re: Ford. Some of the popular Fords don't look good in terms of reliability.
The Fiesta is one of 'em -- (but) the one I bought in the summer of 2010 (brand new model at that point), which I passed along to my daughter & son-in-law, has had absolutely no trouble that I know of other than routine maintenance. It turned up 100k miles a couple of weeks ago.

Anecdotal evidence, I realize - but, still...

Surprised to see Nissan and Ford down there...
Nissan in history has been very good. In 2013 when they revamped the Pathfinder, they really did a horrible job.
The quality of Nissan is not what it use to be at all. I hate my 2014 Pathfinder and can't wait to get out of it.

I'd like to learn what they are. I know many who owns Jeeps and Dodge vehicles including my wife who has a Jeep. It's a 2015 and we have not had any issues with it.

Plus there's a lot more Fords sold than Porsche... kind of skews it.

The range in the JD Power survey as reported is misleading and it looks like all the problems in the survey report are for recent vehicles that would be covered by factory warranty. A Lexus may have around 1 problem per vehicle over the time period, the average may be around 1.5, and Jeep is around 2 problems. The survey measures pretty much anything an owner may perceive to not work to expectation. A Porsche without problems? Really?

Porsche is known as the reliable sports car brand.

    Porsche, there is NO SUBSTITUTE!!!.
They are very good actually remarkable sports cars and SUV's. Everyone who owns them I know loves them and are trouble free.
There is a reason why all other companies measure their vehicles against them.

I posted the earlier in this thread. The cliff notes version is I work with them every day and see things that are beyond just the normal problems... I won't put Lightman's butt in one, so what does that tell you? B)

  • Never a Detroit car for me again. My 14 Lexus bought used with 6k miles owned for over 2yrs. now. Back to the dealer only once for a minor cosmetic flaw. I'm sold!
  • Other than a Nissan van and an infinity coupe every thing I have owned has been domestic. At least a dozen. Haven't had a major repair yet. Detroit will continue to get my support.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
