As for the 706c in black, they told me they do not carry it. They don't list the midnight mahogany at all, and the cherry is on back order. But, $600 was an excellent price..

Regarding color, I went Midnight Mahogany.
My first LSiM's were 703's in MVC, but they didn't go with anything else I have, and they looked really more orange to me. I've seen the MVC in other systems where they look great. To me, they'd be nice in darker spaces, or with some earthy colors, but for my space, the MM works better, not having to worry about matching other wood, etc.
Congrats. I really enjoy the 705's. I missed them the F&F before this last one, and so had been waiting a really long time. Well worth the wait. Looking forward to your impressions as you settle in with them.I disabled signatures. -

It's one of those things you can't really know until you see them both, but the MM is pretty much black, except in bright light, and then it looks a little eggplant to me, which still looks nice. I think the MM is the more flexible choice. But if anyone can manage the MVC, they really make a statement. I have a picture of a space the MVC would be nice in - tastefully dimly lit room, warm dark brown back wall, soft spots on the speakers from above... Either choice, very clean, good looking speaker, imho. I enjoy just looking at them sometimes, and I go, "man, can't believe it, I finally got 705's..."I disabled signatures.

During the last F&F in March, Polk Audio Direct on eBay had the LSiM705's on for a much bigger discount with free shipping. I snagged a pair then.
It was the best deal I've seen on those speakers.
I did the same on the ebay purchase last spring... I think less than $1200 with shipping for the pair. Could not be happier. Really love the sound, just have them in the wrong room. Enjoy the 703s in the smaller room just as much. Can't go wrong at this price.
