Unsubscribe notifications?

I'm getting notifications for two threads that I have un-starred. What gives?? How do I actually remove a thread from my notifications?

Here's the response from Matthew at Vanilla:

"I’ve done a little investigating here, and for users xjghost and Schurkey, this may be due to their notification preferences. They can edit what emails they receive through the “Notification Preferences” tab when editing their profiles.

As for user villian, it looks as though his preferences are in order. If this is related to a Q&A post, then this is a known bug that is currently being resolved. Having said that, if on a normal post, please let me know so I can loop in a developer on this."

So I have had the box checked for "Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in."

You're saying we have no option to opt-out of individual threads?

I'm not talking about email notification. I'm talking about the notification globe by our nick. It will show someone posted on a conversation I have opted out of. If I understand this software then if it's bookmarked I will get an email notification. If it's not I will not. Email notification I can turn on and off.

"The notifications globe is also controlled from the “Notification Preferences” in each user’s profile, toggled by the “Popup” option. If by opt-out user xjghost means he has un-bookmarked a discussion and is still receiving notifications via the globe, please let me know."

Yes I get notifications on that globe on every convo I ever posted in. I may have just fixed it. The popup was checked but now unchecked. Maybe that will stop them.

Same problem. I can't unsubscribe or un-follow a specific thread. It's all or nothing.

Not to mention on the old forum we would get notifications once a day if we chose that with all responses, on this vanilla bs we just get flooded with every single response. I had to turn it all off as I was getting 300 emails a day from every single response. Like we have been saying this IS NOT USER FRIENDLY!!!

So, has this been figured out, can we unsubscribe from a thread now or am I doomed to follow this and every other thread forever wading though a massive notification list to find the updates I really want to read??

Lordy ! No "fix" for this...still...I keep getting email over and over from the thread "What Are You Listening To?" even though it is not bookmarked..Anyone please help !
