With all due respect PSOVLSK, the suggestion of the 60 wpc Dayens, while seemly ok for the 703 is not the best one for either the 705 or 707.

That's a good point of clarification Jesse. I'd love to hear the Dayens on harder to drive speakers to see what it could do.

I have no idea how I posted like this...I'm going to blame it on Vanilla because I don't want to take responsibility for my own actions :p

I agree Skip. That's why I'd like to hear the Menuetto on some harder to drive speakers. I'd be very interested to hear the results and frankly I'd be disappointed if it didn't sound great.

I believe the Parasound is over his budget, no?

Let's have full disclosure on my part: I have not had my ears on a ton of different amps and especially not a lot of integrateds.

I have done a side by side with my Dyn's (4ohm 85db sensitivity) and the Usher MD2's (4ohm 90db sensitivity) on my Pass XA30.5 (60watt classA @ 4ohm) and have complete failure on the Dyn's playing the same music at 88-90db some heavy bass some easy, type listening with complete failure from the Dyn/Pass combo.

Then I've seen 12watts run LSiM on the 705's with complete authority

I know this creates more questions than answers but it is what it is

Dana, punctuation is a good and sometimes greatly underappreciated thing. Your run-on "sentences" have the scent of ADHD to them. :#

To me, it seems like you came here with the decision already made to get the 707s and you were just looking for some validation. Have you even considered the 705s? There's some very experienced and knowledgeable folks here trying to encourage you to give them a listen.

Good luck with whatever route you decide to go and welcome to Club Polk!

I think you should buy 707's at retail less 10%, a Parasound Halo amp, and $600 speaker cables. There, does that help? :|

I think you should buy them off ebay refurbished, save 1000$ off the 10% off retail, and the halo.

Ok Thanks Dana for clearing that up. I thought that Dana was the God that you prayed to or something %^). I too wanted the 707's but these guys here told me I should get the 705's so I will defer to their combined wisdom and get 705's.

Get what you have your heart set on. You will have the speakers you truly want, and you will have them properly powered which is the key to making sure that they operate to their full potential. Since that will be the case, I think the biwire would be a waste of time and just add more wire to the rats nest of the wires and ICs that you will have.

Most importantly, you will be doing it right the first time around. So get it, put it all together, then sit back and enjoy it for years to come.

Welcome to Club Polk, keep us posted. :)

The rocket 33's are fantastic speaker cables. They do everything right. with the setup you described , I'd use them with it all day.
I'm wondering if moving to the 705's is wise and putting the extra money towards a slightly better Intergraded like a NAD or Cambridge Audio.

cfrizz is spot on, buy what you want, you do not want to spend next few years wishing & hoping you'd bought something else. Love my 705's, I'm sure if I had much bigger room I'd have loved 707's. Agree with others you need to have the right source before you buy the speakers.

I had the Rocket 33's bi-wires but I sold them to Red, as my living room is my only good listening room for now so I change out speaker all the time and the bi-wires made it tougher to do that.
going to tear down my 10x20 day room and make it 20x20 listening room. but 1st I have to remove 2 trees & fill in a pond and gut my backyard. & kitchen & dining room at same time.

But I like them just fine and i think Red liked them with his 703's.

If your building a room, I would advise against 20x20. Too square and you can have a standing wave issue. If your building, rectangle not too square.

You must not live in CA. You cant even smoke in your room let alone cut down trees or fill in a pond on your own property! lol
