    Wife ok'd moving another IKEA shelf into the living room for albums.

    This was before. I do miss my 705's :(

    The weight bearing shelves really need to be of a single piece if the load on them is heavy (e.g., LP rekkids). The 'square' Expedits can be assembled/employed either way, but the results of making the wrong choice are well documented -- and disastrous.

    I actually had one of my shelves oriented incorrectly when I disassembled, moved, and reassembled them at the new house in NH. Someone noticed it in a photo, mentioned it, and I remediated it PDQ. Whew.

    PS the Expedit was replaced by the Kallax, which is pretty darned similar to the originals.

    It does look a little off symmetrically, but if you focus on the MF integrated, that is the center as far as critical listening is concerned. The rest is centered on the TV for the wife, and the shelves are just where they can be.

    I have the albums mostly on the top shelves so I don't have to bend down so far.

    I agree, but when you're in the room, it's easier to focus on the two speakers and the middle of the listening position.

    What REALLY bugs me is when my wife takes my spot :):):)

    The LS 90's are a really good speaker. Especially solid deep bass.

    I miss just a bit of the air and detail in the mids and uppers. The 705's provided that. The 90's are very smooth but I think I'm beginning to discover that I prefer the higher side of detail and a bit of sparkle as opposed to smooth and buttery.

    Again, I really like the 90's, and it will be some time before I upgrade.

    They are good speakers though and deserving of a stop at the abode.

    As @erniejade can attest to, the sound difference with the grilles off is incredible. That's how I would prefer to listen, but the wife doesn't like and I've got thirty fingers under 6 yrs old to keep out :)

    Thanks hochpt21, I am still trying to miss my 707's but they are still here lol. They are my project child. Man I got spoiled with the Ushers but the 707's are a dream with HT but I just don't do much of that these days. BTW I love your TT isolation, mine works really well to but I think it needs some black spray paint.
