So I guess these will also be on the market soon as well? lol. And I thought I went through a bunch of speakers. After I made my room more acoustically neutral and took all the noise out of the loop I find that I don't go through speakers as fast.
Ugh, kids around speakers and audio gear, I don't allow kids in my house anymore because most parents these days just don't watch them or tell them no and they sure don't want anyone else to, it really pissed my brother off but of well. Our father sure never let us act like that in other peoples houses.
You might try them in a few other rooms before you let them go. Go get one of these http://www.harborfreight.com/bigfoot-hand-truck-97568.html and haul them upstairs by yorself, I had to get one for my SDA era, worked great.

Dolly and stairs are recipe for disaster.
I have smaller dolly but no way I'm hauling speakers on them upstairs.

I once saw a 135-40 pound dude (and NO, he was not a powerlifter, a man of slight proportions) and his wife carry a full sized refrigerator up a big flight of steps after three of us weighing from 180-250lbs using boards stalled halfway up by trying slide it up using upper body strength, mostly. We tired out! We were all in our late 20s at the time. lol

A professional mover, he got a rope, slung it around the back end of the unit, wrapped both ends around HIS wrists then had his wife tilt/push the top end of the unit so that it "balanced" and pulled the rope taught. With it hanging in mid-air he walked it up backwards one step at a time while his wife continued to keep it balanced on the bottom end tilting it up. Working together as one unit. Two people, whose combined weight was less than our heaviest friend pulled that sucker up the steps to the amazement of the three of us who were quite capable of lifting that fridge off the ground together, but didn't know how to BEST use our strength and leverages, "practically"! lol

I'm sure with the right technique those speakers could travel up or down your steps!

I've seen that kind of things from my own eyes when I was in that part of the world.
They do it for a living, out of necessity.
    I have choices. ;)

I may move them upstairs but need few friends to help me. No using dolly.

Smaller than you'd think. Here she is doing my taxes. She was allowed to move the 1.2's after she finished working on my transmission.

Just went through this thread. Nice setup you have there Mystery. And how do you manage to buy and keep so much gear. haha. WAF, is a huge concern here at my end (living in apartment woes). I have been trying to find a decent deal on a 2/3 channel amp for my apartment to power rti8's and csi5(planning to buy), haven't been able to (in Denver).

    Thanks.
It was the same situation when I had a small townhouse.
Just have to keep her happy with other things. ;)

Here are few pics when I was in the small townhouse... so it's doable...

Awesome collection and props to you for being able to keep it all in townhouse.
With my fishing gear, ski gear, guitar gear and car maintenance stuff, I have very little space. Room acoustics you say? I say WTF?
TOO MANY HOBBIES, I need to cut down on all of it at least till I move to a house.

I don't even know how I was able to make the wife agree on RTi8's. At least she loves the sound of it better than the samsung HTIB 5.1. Now, CSi5 is going to be different story because Tv stand will have to go for a new one or a TV riser has to come in and I am planning on purchasing a 12" sub

I have been eyeing a speakercraft BB275 and CSi5 in local craigslist, but don't know if I should settle with 75Watts for the 250Watt RTi8's. Moreover CSi5 is cherry veneer and my RTi8's are black plus my TV stand is black. Currently being powered by yamaha v667 (has all channel pre outs). Decisions.

PS: got myself a Xsight touch universal remote. What a god send. Now wife doesnt ask me every time she needs to switch inputs and the coffee table is not a cluster eff of remotes. WAF went skyrocket with that purchase. Hopefully, I can slide in CSi5 purchase while the Xsight remote happiness hasn't worn off.

    Gave it a good run...
...You seem to really like the B A400's anyway.
    All is not lost!

Yes I do like A400's but turns out I like 3A's more...
Comparison stage for the 3A signatures and Boston A400's is set.
Excuse the bad picture quality. I dropped my DSLR and broke the lens. :(

    16197532286_ba3c99dcaf_o.jpg

Vandersteen 3A Signatures are more refined, balanced, controlled and smoother top to bottom. Sound big, thick, slightly laid back and heavy in comparison against A400's.
What I noticed is music is less but more open and involving vocals. It sounds like it's real/live and easy on the ears. Musical instruments and vocals have great separation.
    Great imaging.
    Also, great deep balanced bass.

*****The below statements may make A400's sound like bad speakers but it's only in comparison against 3A's and I'm trying to describe as much as I can but A400's are great on their own and can live happily with them*****
Boston A400's have more music than vocal in comparison. Music slightly overpowers/crowds vocal. Looks like A400's have more mids and highs than lows.
Highs are more than 3A's and sound brighter but not as controlled nor as directed as 3A's. Think of 3A's highs as well behaved crowd in a line and A400's highs as people scattered around the place so not as refined and slightly noisy.
Bass is great on A400's but doesn't dig as low as 3A's and sounds slightly bouncy. That could be because of the sealed design and doesn't dig as low so midbass sound vs 3A's active subwoofer kinda design that digs well below 30hz.
Vocals are slightly edgy and rough and not as clean/clear due to music mix up in comparison.
Not as involving as 3A's and lacked some imaging but that could be due to them being too far apart.

    So the winner is... Vandersteens.
    Will do more comparison.

Next step is to haul the A400's upstairs and bring Sonus down to compare Sonus with Vandersteens.

    Okay the fun is over...
Vandersteens are gone today to a local Vandersteen fan.
He already has 3's and added 3A signatures to his stable now.
Sold for quite less than what they go for in the gon but that's what local deal is about.

My 2-channel room will move to upstairs guest room with the Sonus Faber.

In the living room, I have Boston A400's flat against the wall and it's a good enough setup there without having to pull speakers out to the middle.
Wifey is okay with this setup and not too bad for music for me as well.
