    I met him back in 1999 or early 2000, and he was a true gentleman. I put a cellphone in his car, and he commented about where society was going and how the cell would be absolutely glued to us as we went about our lives. He had the entire shop cracking up the whole time he was there...

    There have been two comedians in my 60 year life that would make me start laughing by the way they just looked at the audience before they said a word. The first was a British guy called Tommy Cooper, who most people here probably have never heard of, the second was Robin Williams. Probably gave St. Peter a really hard time before he talked his way through.

    Very sad. He and Jonathan Winters were, IMHO the finest improv guys ever, and both suffered from depression.

    What upsets me about this is how much media this takes up, how my Facebook is filled with pages of this. You can't get the average American to consider a real issue for five minutes and form an opinion. But an entertainers death? News of the century.
