Interesting angle TX... refs get paid barely enough for a professional living in many cities, while the league makes billions and the players make millions. It takes decades to earn that zebra shirt, and they get nothing but crap from everybody.

It’s not hard to imagine why a little extra cash in the pocket could be a strong motivator.

They get paid pretty good fo working a few hours a week.

Being a ref is a thankless job. They can hardly get anybody to be a ref in lower levels because of all the beeotching from parents etc. Refs getting threatened or even beat up walking to their vehicles after games. As for the Lion game, I have to say the Lions had 5 field goals. You have five field goals in a game and you can't b*tch about losing. Make one of those five FG's a touchdown and you win. Plus, Stafford's yards were all in the first quarter - and they had no run game whatsoever the entire game. The Lions got the ball with 8 minutes left and the lead and all they had to do was sustain a drive to waste the clock - instead they gave the ball back. Even the semblance of a run game and the Lions would've won. The Lion's first TD was a fourth down and goal and one ref called a TD and the others didn't. That call was just as debatable as the last. Plus, the Packers had 3 turnovers - and two dropped passes that were sure touchdowns. Yet, the Lions couldn't convert and had 5 field goals. "The refs decided the game" is a refrain you hear often, and sometimes - like the Saints game last year that kept them from the Super Bowl - it sure seemed like it, but more often its there are many plays throughout the game that are determinative of who wins and who loses. Monday night was a boring game by two pretty mediocre teams. If there was some conspiracy I don't think it would've been used on them.

And it's a great story line for Aaron Rogers to ride off into the sunset after another ring...

You and I both should put a chunk on the Packers to win the super bowl right now. Lol. Aaron Rogers is an over the hill primadonna that argues with his coach on the sidelines and blames others and rolls his eyes when things aren't going right. They'll probably get into the playoffs and lose in the first or second round when they hit a team that won't let them come back. For most of the game Monday he sucked - the whole first half was a joke - but that last TD bomb to Lazard was a thing of beauty, as was the catch. He can do still do that once in a while but not as much as he used to. The Packers are stuck with an overpaid, over the hill QB, like several other teams. But he's the "name" that's bringing in big revenue for the Corporation, and that's the name of the game nowadays not football.

They work more than you think, and if you take that over the couple decades they were either volunteers or paid very little at the HS. and College levels to get there, they don't get enough to put up with the BS from multi-millionaire crybaby athletes, drunken fans and a host of others, at least in my opinion.

It seems the defense of the Pats in addition to smothering offense lines now has even stopped the people that had been crying cheat :)
I must admit I did not expect that outcome last night especially since the Jets beat the Cowboys the previous week.

I liked it when the Jets QB hit the wide open defender with a perfect pass!

    Jimmy Garoppolo had "butterfinger" hands.

It was a great game!!! Defenses were outstanding. It seemed the refs didn't call a lot of the fouls I thought were fouls and had been called just that in other games this year already.

We here, were hoping for the 49's.

That interception on Russel Wilson near the end of reg. time reminded me of that Super Bowl (?) interception he threw at the end of that game right at the goal line also.

Injuries on the 49er's last night took out some of their top players. Kittle to name number 1. Then the little guy, he sure was missed too.

It was on Garoppolo's shoulders the second half! He did his part for the most part..LOL.

The rookie field goal kicker did great to tie the game. Then failed to win the game. Such a pooched shank of a kick! From hero to zero in 15 min.. :s
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
