    Our prayers have worked... we met with a gastroenterologist yesterday and reviewed Nooshin's CT's with him. He does not know yet the cause of the thickening taking place in her colon, but he has almost completely ruled out cancer as the cause. He said it is most likely an infection of some sort that should respond well to antibiotics. We will be going in for a colonoscopy in a few days so the doctors can plan the best course of treatment.

    My mom also appears to be in better spirits and that has helped quite a bit... so thanks everyone, and I will update this again when I have more news.

    Thanks guys... basic results are in from her tests, and they are good. They show a pretty good infection of her colon but nothing more. Biopsy results should come in next week, but we are confident that nothing too scary will come of it.
