C'mon, Joe, you know they're worth the effort. I've only got Hot Rats and Apostrophe on vinyl, but they both sound pretty good.
When I was 13 my uncle pissed my mom off royally when he gave me a mixed tape of Zappa stuff; had Broken Hearts are for ****, Bobby Brown, all the offensive ones on it.Wristwatch--->Crisco -
This afternoon has been a mix of Aerosmith, Elton John, Live and Kid Rock

Listening to track 4."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
Dire Straits
Brother in Arms
SACD
As I sit here listening to it. Its probably the best sounding cd I got. -
Red Sparowes. I've really gotten into them and Explosions In The Sky again as of late. This "post rock" instrumental music is perfect for head heavy work.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

"It's like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain!" -
I just burned some Robin Trower, Frank Marino, SRV, Muddy, Buddy, B.B., and Mountain.
the rest of the time, it's 'bluesville' on xm.
Just discovered Joe Banamasa's 'Burning Hell' as I was writing this and had to CRANK IT!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
Luther Allison - Bad News Is Coming
1972, Gordy G9462, LP
The high notes he can wail, best evidenced on the title cut of this album, are super human. His cover of "Cut You A-Loose" is, IMHO, the difinitive version. -

Mike, I have this one enroute to my house. I can't believe I've never heard it before, maybe a song now and then on the radio back in the day but never the whole LP. -

back in the day???? it only came out last year!:p -
This man likes his job: writing, playing and singing New Orleans flavored blues.
We had a chance to see him live again a week ago at our favorite small venue and consider him one of the top 10 live acts ever for us.
My only knock of this album is the same for every one of his I've heard. It does not capture the marvelous power and dynamics of his very unique voice. -

Clapton's done work with J J Cale before. -

they hinted at a tour possibility when "road to escondido" came out....THAT would be killer! -
Martin Scorsese Presents: Jimi Hendrix
From Scorsese's "Blues" mini series. Has some good tracks on it, but it pales in comparison to the Hendrix "Blues" album. Sound quality is consistently good, however. For the Hendrix collector rather then someone just getting into him.
Edit:Last night, running out of interest during the third side, I looked at the fourth side and decided to call it an evening. Listened to side 4 today and was more impressed. Midnight Lightning, the last track of side 4, is Jimi on vocals and guitar with no accompaniment. Great stuff.Wristwatch--->Crisco -

Early Jimi Hendrix- Baron lp 105
A live recording of Jimi playing with Curtis Knight in 1965 , recorded at George's Club 20 in Hackensack, NJ. Varying, but generally pretty bad, recording of some of the show stoppers he played when he was still a sideman. It's a shame the recordings especially bad on Driving South, I'm a Man, and ....Killing Floor, when he's really ripping it up.Wristwatch--->Crisco -

Heart Like a Wheel- Linda Rondstat
She has one of the most beautiful voices. First side is slower, sadder ballads, well done and delicate. Second side picks up the pace, highlights of the album for me are on it; the sweetest version of the Lowell George song "Willin" you'll ever hear as well as a Hank Williams song called "I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love WIth You" with Emmy Lou Harris. It's a great recording, even the regular Capitol version I have. I'd love to hear the 220g version.Wristwatch--->Crisco -
Carlos Santana - Havana Moon
1983, LP
A most excellent collaboration album with some very nice blues cuts - somewhat of a rarity for Carlos. -

Yeah man that would be killer! I'm gonna have to see if they actually got one going. -
1975 Grammophon Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture, Boston Pops Orchestra, Arthur Fiedler, in vinyl.
