Just can't seem to stop listening this morning...
Snowboy and the Latin Section, "Mambo Rage", Ubiqity Records, double LP. Another very good sounding set of records.
If you haven't heard Snowboy, you should give his music a try. He's a whiteboy from England who somehow got into Afro Cuban latin music.
Interesting story:

This has been posted before but Chris Rea- "The Road to Hell" this one, specifically after a couple of serious listens, really grows on you.

Beck - Sea Change
Perhaps the most musical and mellow album I've heard. I love it. -
I was in the mood for something a little softer this afternoon.. a few weeks ago I pick up a handful of albums for a buck a piece. All but one was in way above average condition.
today I cleaned and placed on the platter along with Joe's The Clamp and starting spinning Brenda Russell - Get Here (A&M records, SP5178)
Exec produced in 1988 by Brenda Russell herself... the album is quite good. Way better than I thought. Sure a few of the songs are dated, but a couple of them really stand out. One in particular is Get Here. Wow, she has a great smooth voice.
I had heard the remake of Get Here from about 1990 by Oleta Adams. and really liked her rendition of the song. But when the last song came on by Brenda who actually wrote the song Get Here, well it was tons better. The album is well recorded and has great clean dynamics. *We are talking vinyl, not CD here.
Anyhoo, it's good.. and for a buck, well you can't really go wrong. I don't know if Russell still puts out music, but this album certainly must have been a highlight in her career.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert
