Just picked this one up today....

John Butler Trio - Sunrise Over Sea

First Album in the US for this Australian Group. EXCELLENT - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Looking for something new. Here it is. I heard one track on a local station that plays "Adult/contemporary/alternative/rock" stuff. I liked the cut and bought the CD and found the rest was very good. Blues inspired alternative would be the best description.

Well I just currently got Blackfield All I can say is that I am VERY impressed with this album. If you are a fan of Porcupine Tree, or neo-progressive rock, well this is the album for you.

    HIGHLY recommended.

It's very good. She's still a great story teller/social commentator with her lyrics. I'd still consider this cd on the folky side. She has added some groovy drums on most songs and some keyboards, but it's far from electronic or heavy on beats. The drums sometimes get the songs moving a bit. Her voice is great as usual, it's nice to hear her again. I'd rate it a solid 4 out of 5. I'm really enjoying it. If you are a fan of her's you won't be disappointed. It's nice to hear her out of a total folk guitar setting. This should get a lot of play on the Adult Alternative/Adult Contemporary music channels.

"Journey to Love" - Stanley Clarke May have to do a review of this one for the other thread, it's that good. Definitely has that 70's Jazz groove, not a bad thing at all, very..... "listenable" for lack of a better description.

Please do....I've always like Stanley Clarke. A very innovative bass player.

Yes he is...I've been listening to Stanley Clarke & Friends-Live at the Greek and the 21 minute version of School Days with Billy Cobham on percussion is fantastic, addictive I'd say :D . I have great respect for Billy Cobham as well.
