Is it "Can't Get Through" by Cornell Dupree? That's the last one I bought and it was around '98-'99.

That guy was a sideman on a lot of the great CTI releases from the 70's.

    (of the Jersey Grands)

My daughter Stephie and I just got finished watching "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".

Mr. Grand, that has to be one of my all time favorite films. I rank it with buddy Slim.

The ABBA dvd I grabbed from best BB was that of US and EU tour from 79. If it was playing on anything other than my system I would turn it OFF;>)

Just finished semi-critically listening to Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway

Next is Anna Nalick - Wreck of the Day, assuming I have enough time.

The couple of songs that I've heard from Clarkson's new release, have actually surprised the hell out of me. Not that bad and definitely better than any of that Britney Spears crap or well you know...........

Haha. Britney Spears. I actually have about 5 or 6 songs by her. I've never even bothered to listen to them.

I'd say Kelly Clarkson isnt' that bad. However, I prefer Anna Nalick, for sure.

I need to get a Michelle Branch CD.

I have the Anna Nalick as well and I like it too.....not as good as my honey Jewel. But still talented nonetheless. She's only 19 so she has plenty of room to grow musically.

Had the CD 'Cartwheels on a Gravel Road' in my car for a long time. Listened this am. Wow! not only great music, but alot of Louisiana, Miss. and Tx references. Really put a lump in the throat. Track #6 is a goose-bumper..the chorus goes: 'did an angel whisper in your ear?...hold you close....take away all your fears...on that loooonnnggg last moment'....

Another highly rec female singer/songwriter is Erin McKeown. She has a new cd out and she has a lot of flair and style. This best describes her and I think many in here would like her, recording/production are top notch as well. (shamelessly lifted from cduniverse.com)

2005's WE WILL BECOME LIKE BIRDS, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Erin McKeown hones her pop-rock sound. Whereas her past records veered from jazz to folk to country, BIRDS finds McKeown crafting songs that subtly mix these genres but fall squarely into the melodic rock style of artists like Aimee Mann. McKeown's high, clear, girl-next-door voice is in fine form, bold enough to carry the majestic, opening "Aspera," but nuanced enough for the gentle, acoustic number "Float." McKeown is backed by a top-notch band here that includes renowned session drummer Matt Chamberlain (who has played with Tori Amos) and bassist Sebastian Steinberg (formerly of Soul Coughing). She's also joined by Argentine vocalist Juana Molina (on "The Golden Dream," a gauzy, Wurlitzer-driven number) and the husky-voiced Peter Mulvey (on the spare "Delicate December"). One of McKeown's most confident and cohesive albums, WE WILL BECOME LIKE BIRDS showcases the talents of an artist hitting her stride

I discovered her of all places on NPR (National Public Radio)

That is a great cd (Carwheels)...our local boy Chalie Sexton produced her last effort and played guitar for Dylan on his last tour. Lucinda is a mess of a woman...she had a breakdown in the middle of an Austin City Limits set and completely lost it....maybe a little much to drink.

her dramas come thru in her singing, too! she shows a long list of hard partying crooners. let's hope she keeps it together enough for some more good music

Listening to One Night In SanFrancisco...I love this cd. Classic desert island.

Also listening to Led Zeppelin-The Complete Studio Recordings. I have so many boots of LZ that I rarely listen to studio stuff....it's probably been a year since I last listened to studio stuff....Forgot how good it is. Live is still much more involving.

This morning as I was cooking some breakfast for me and the kids, I went over to turn on the digital cable music channel (Arena Rock) and the stereo. I didn't hear anything so I turned it up a little bit just to be sure. I just caught the 2 or 3 seconds of silence in between songs when I hear...
