Sick of hearing Free Bird and Gimme Three Steps? Check out these songs....Lend a Helpin' Hand and Comin' Home, both off of Lynyrd Skynyrd's First Album: The Complete Muscle Shoals Album. Skynyrd has a bunch of great songs from other albums as well that never received airplay...Workin' for MCA, The Needle and the Spoon, Cry for the Bad Man, Was I Right or Wrong, Searchin', Roll Gypsy Roll....

Kate Bush - The Kick Inside (LP - UK release)

    0bff1363ada06f78a7d6e010.L.jpg

Kate Bush's debut album was released when she was 19 years old; she had written some of the songs when she was only 15. The album opens with whale song, which leads into the first track, "Moving", inspired by her dance teacher, Lindsay Kemp. "The Man with the Child in his Eyes" and "Wuthering Heights' on side one are stellar.

    Wonderful artist...great album.

I am a HUGE Peter Gabriel fan...but for some reason I like the Phil Collins Genesis better than the Peter Gabriel Genesis.

Sara Evans - No Place That Far

    51PXrliLmqL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Her sophomore album...and there is no sophomore slump with this one. On the title track the unmistakable voice of Vince Gill is immediately apparent...helping it to become the strongest cut on the CD. This album definitely continues with the "New Traditional Country" sound that Dwight Yoakam help her develop in her first album.

The only thing missing is Sara singing to me in person in the place of the gear rack...

    This woman is HOT!

    Vince Gill - The Key

    310HN8F6GNL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

After a getting a brief listen of Vince on the Sara Evans CD, I just had to pull one of his CDs off the rack and into the CDP. This is his best album IMO. "Next Big Thing" and "I Still Believe In You" are close behind.

    Canada + 80s = Chilliwack!

I was playing exactly this the other day and my wife, who is not Canadian and hates pretty much everything I listen to, thought it was really good. This is probably a good find for those who haven't heard of the band before.
