I just read about that myself about an hour or so ago. That is definitely an untimely death. For those who may not know him, he was most widely known as the cat in the fast and the furious.

Did i read it right? It was during his own charity event? What a sad way to go.
You typically hear about people from the world of Hollywood dying with powder on their faces. Not this way.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like the car they were in was quite a handful to drive.

Yes driving fast in the movies looks cool. Doing it on city streets- well it ends up like this.
The driver bit off a lot more than he could chew.

The 911 porsche are notorious for loosing it on the back end. Ryan Dunn aka Rab from jackass died in 2011 in the same car.

Apparently the driver of the car was a bit of an amateur race car driver. He drove in a few pro/am races. The news reported that the speed limit was 45 where the accident occurred and that high speed was a factor. That's a no-brainer after looking at the remains of the car. As greedy as Hollywood is, I wonder if the producers of the Fast & Furious sequel he was working on will try and sue the driver's family or insurance company. I know the film makers insure their stars in case of an accident such as this. I remember watching the special features on a DVD and they were talking about the insurance company wouldn't let the star of the movie ride a motorcycle on his time off until the movie was finished. I can't remember which movie it was.

Personally, I am a lot more saddened for the four people who lost their lives on a crashed commuter train in the Bronx this weekend.

Loss of life is loss of life....All have family and friends that are in mourning right now. R.I.P.

What's crazy is just Friday my co-workers and I were just giving another 19 year old co-worker a hard time. He just got bought a modded Subaru WRX STi off eBay and we were jabbing him about Paul Walker being his hero and yet letting him know that he should leave the stunt driving to the pro's in the movies.

The kid just got the car about a week ago and has already been drifting with it! I hope he follows my advice to slow it down and join a local organized car club if he wants to explore what the car can do in a sanctioned event.

But loss of all lives are apparently not the same. I don't see any RIP threads with the names of the victims of the train crash. I do see threads like this one not just here, but on other forums as well, not to mention my facebook news feed scrolling along all day long with people mourning the loss of a celebrity who died being reckless. I don't see anyone mourning the loss of the waitress who was on her way to work on a train. By the way, their names were Donna L. Smith, 54, of Newburgh, New York; James G. Lovell, 58, of Cold Spring, New York; James M. Ferrari, 59, of Montrose, New York; and Ahn Kisook, 35, of Queens, New York.

And I don't see you trolling any of the other multiple RIP threads in the Clubhouse. No one is trying to take away from anyone else. This is an audio forum. Paul Walker was in a lot of movies. His death is not any more important than anyone else that happened to lose their life, but he is a celebrity and people know him. Why you choose to start coming into this particular thread and insinuate people here place more value on his death than others - when the only person that seems to think that is you with this gem, "Personally, I am a lot more saddened for the four people..."

Fact is, a daughter is without her father, parents are without their son, and his 3 siblings are without their brother from an unfortunate crash on his way to a charity event for which he is a founder for. Have some respect. If you would like to pay tribute to the unfortunate accident that took the lives of those on the train, don't do so by ****ting on this thread, start your own.

Oh forgive me oh exalted one, defender of the RIP thread. I don't mean to upset you by not paying proper respect to the loss of your hero. You know, the person who left his daughter without a father, who left his parents without a son, and left his 3 siblings without their brother by unfortunately recklessly driving a Porsche (fine, he wasn't the driver, just the thrill-seeking passenger) fast enough to practically launch it into orbit.

I said nothing to the effect that I place more value in one death than another, just the opposite. I said that I'm more saddened. And I am. I place just as much value in the deaths of these train passengers as I do in the death of Paul Walker. I am more sad that 4 people were killed and 67 were injured, many critically, who were just passengers on a commuter train than I am about a celebrity wrapping a Porsche around a tree.

No comparison Ryan was way past drunk doing darn near 200mph in the dark.

By the way most mid engine cars stick like glue, BUT when they let loose all you can do is hang on for dear life.

Really, Let's all take a deep breath and kick back, after all he was just an actor and not a very good one at that, but hey look on the bright side at least we probably won't have to watch "The Fast and The Furious 66: Dom & Brian the Race of the Walker's"

Just remember weather you like it or not this has to be the most politically incorrect country in the world. I mean it must have been maybe an hour after the first shuttle accident before I heard the joke "What's NASA stand for", "I don't know", "Need Another Seven Astronauts"

BTW: Did you now as of 2011 according to the CDC that the average daily death rate in the U.S. is Approx 6,762 (based on there being 2,468,435 per year). Who morns for them. If it were up to me I'd close & delete everyone of the these RIP threads. Don't we get enough death else were.

You seriously need to do some research before posting dude. The 911 Porsche and Carrera GT that they were in couldn't be more different. RR vs MR, and $650k retail vs ~$150k retail. The Carrerra GT was a street legal race car that is very difficult to control.
