There is no way for the speaker to fall down or slip from those stands. The stand itself is 12 lb but after filled it with shot lead it's 22 lb. Also the speaker is 30 lb. BTW those stands are designed to hold 75 lb each.

Not unless you and the wife practice your WWF moves on the couch. You have to decouple the speaker from the stand for reasons already stated. They will not fall off on their own, only if someone or some thing helps them.

For me the dark color suits. I can only see it from the sides. From listening position I only see piano black.

Can you say "PERFECT" color for your decor?

I wanted to ask you..what is the story on the picture? Is that back lit? a screen? or just a great shot? It looks like a clean window at first glance. It really opens up the space.

I'd say close enough match :)

It is an original by Peter Lik printed on Fuji paper, and lit from the sides and top.

    http://www.lik.com/

He is an incredible photographer, and the shot is eucalyptus trees from Maui.

We go it in Maui last September as a matter of fact ... exactly 1 year ago today... 09/31/12.

That little bookie is absolutely fantastic and as beautiful in person as it is in pictures. They come with their own stands that bolt into the bottom of the bookie, much like the TOTL Dynaudio's do. Those Evo's are well above the price point of the LSiM's though. I haven't investigated their other speakers, but the vendor at LSAF said these started around the $3k mark, about $37,000 less than you'd pay for any other speaker they make. Those bookies had me thinking VERY hard about where I wanted to upgrade.

Skip, those MicroOne's look awesome! I want (3) for my front soundstage! Have you heard them? Yeh their big boys look sweet too... but just a tad rich for this blood.

Well...the LSiM line is very nice and seem to do a lot right for less than what many other speakers cost. Pooraudiophiles like myself are saving pennies to buy a set but I don't know if it would be wise to make a dedicated mass loaded marble base stand for a speaker at this price point?
    tonyb wrote: »

Especially at the price of the 703.

For a ton of cash there are these...for this kind of premium money, one would expect dedicated pedestals:

Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolution - $22K ($20K speakers, $2K Dedicated Pedestals...massive, enhanced decoupling, with a marble base)

    That's The Black Halo!
You can always add the Audioquest Black Mamba IC's, the Shunyata Black Mamba power cord, and the Sterling Black Mamba speaker cables? Then rock out to The Black Halo album by Kamelot!

It would be all black, and all good!
