Nope 705's instead. 707's too picky...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
705's are $3k. 707 are 1/2 off.

Plainoledave,
What other factors are you weighing? At $2k, she is a temptress!! Cover your eyes dave, cover your eyes!!! -
are you at American????
-
Go for It!, or I should say if I was spending your money I would go for it! If I had the money I would probably buy them also.
-
That is a deal. Go for it!!!
-
If at American check the condition. Both american's by me demo pair looks terrible.

Just got an email from Polk. 25% off of all products for next three days. May want to check it out.
-
Even if the 707 is a little picky compared to the 705. that is a great price I would take them if I was still in the market.

Is this promotion real? I don't need any more speakers, but I'm feeling like plainoledave at the moment.
-
Yeah It's really hard not to grab a pair of the 703's for $750, that's a great price.

Exactly. I just called customer service in order to verify, but she said the 9:30 - 5:30 eastern time folks are the ones that I need to check with. -

Nevermind, beat me to it. -
I am sure marketing is running to promotions. People forget how easy this gets out on the web now.
very tempting offer. -
Link and passwords work. I would say it's legit but I still don't understand conflicting emails. Call CS would be the best way to find out.
I tried both links as well. I do get a page that appears to be a polk page. It just seems to good to be true. I am sitting here tallying up a new 5-channel system. After I see the price, keep saying no, that can't be right! $3,300 gets you two 707s, two 703s, and a 706c -

Obviously I'm a polk fan, but I'm curious as to what other speakers could match them at the 50% off price point. If this ad is legit, we all should be like town criers and polk shelves should end up being bare.

I wish I was a town crier, but I'm probably more of the boy who cried wolf. Six months ago or maybe a year from now...the 707's would fit my room nicely.2 ChannelTurntable - VPI Classic 2/Ortofon 2M BlueAmplification - Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II, Parks Audio Budgie PhonoSpeakers - GoldenEar Triton 17.2 Home TheaterDenon AVR-X3300W; Rotel RMB-1066; Klipsch RP-280F's, Klipsch RP-450C, Polk FXi3's, Polk RC60i; Dual SVS PB 2000's; BenQ HT2050; Elite Screens 120"Man CaveTurntable - Pro-Ject 2.9 Wood/Grado GoldAmplification - Dared SL2000a, McCormack DNA 0.5 DeluxeCD: Cambridge AudioSpeakers - Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary; LSiM 703; SDA 2A
