I agree. I'm not a big fan of the Lexus models for the most part, but they're clearly better vehicles than their Toyota counterparts. Glorified Camry? Ok, I'm fine with that assessment, glorified means better, right?

I think "glorified" is the street term I have heard most everybody use. Perhaps "upgraded" would have fit better in this case.

OK, lets call it upgraded, as it obviously is. I guess, another time when the term 'to each is his own' applies. Personally, I'm more interested in the engine, transmission, suspension - technical terms, rather than upgrades such as leather, high-end stock stereo, big wheels, etc. That's why I personally would not buy ES350 over Camry or CSX over Civic, etc - I'd rather go for a better transmission/engine than leather interior.

Obviously, Lambo/Bentley/VW comment was a sarcasm. I can call 911 a VW too if someone will find it funny.

Btw, from your list I'd pick a Mazda6 with a V6. Charger - you can't see anything out of that car with tiny windows and tall hood, Lexus ES is just a glorified Camry. Add Legacy and Accord to that list.

The Mazda6 made my jaw drop when I saw it on the road. The car look much larger than the last gen. I love large sedans but am considering a medium size car with good gas mileage. No doubt I will test drive it at some point. Yeah, the Lex and Camry are the same...but damn do I like the looks of the Lex better. The car is just so damn solid....you just can't close the door once...you have to do it a few times...it just sounds SO GOOD! Was at the dealer last week kicking tires with empty pockets. LOL!

The Charger is one that I love to drive...at least the last gen... and want to own one.

Its good that I can't do anything now because my thoughts seem to change daily as to which I would go for.

I've got an '03 Mazda6 nearing 100k and will be looking to buy a new car in the next 1-2 years. The new Mazda6 models only come with 4-cylinder engines, with like 180HP max, so those are out of contention.

The new Mercedes CLA45 AMG looks really appealing, as does the new Audi S3. Those are the highest on my list right now.

Wow, I didn't realize they completely dropped V6 for 2013+. Well, check out specs for the new diesel:

Well, as some of us know...horsepower is all for not is the trans and is not up to snuff. I keep reading that Mazda has done a great job with their six speed. So, It will be interesting to see what the car can do given the great feedback on the cars handling. Also, I think they are pushing hard the Skyactiv and trying to keep the MPG numbers up.

I think we all will have to get used to 4 Cyl in the future in small-mid cars and SUV's. Hell, speaking of the CLA45 AMG ..look what that 4 cylinder monster can do....mate an engineering marvel 2.0L turbo 4 cyl and 7 speed trans....and it looks like the MPG numbers might be in the high 30's -40 MPG range? Will see...

For a Toy , I would love to pick up a Nissan GTR. It's my favorite sports car followed closely by a Porsche 911.

In the really real world cars make no sense for me. I got a family of 4 and we use the hell out of a SUV. Currently I'm running a 2011 Nissan Murano SV and I came from a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE. There are many things about the Pathfinder I like better. There are also many things about the Murano I like more then the Pathfinder.
The New Pathfinder seems to be a combo of both. As much as I'm not into the look of the new Pathfinder , I may check one out when it's time to move on. I also like the Ford Edge.

My altima has been treating me well, very happy with it and even more happy I finally got out of the Honda scene. My next car I am hoping for a Subaru WRX and if I can the STI, or if they ever bring it back a Audi A3 Hatchback.

Pretty sure I'll keep my Trailblazer for a while! Plenty of room in it...rides like a caddy...and been so far very dependable.
