My tires are balding and its time to replace them on my old sh$t heap (dont ask the model). I was thinking of just selling it and be done with it and thought I would start this thread as there is not a whole lot of chatter on the subject

I know we all want Bentleys etc but lets keep the thread grounded in reality. Any of you guys lusting after a new car or have one in mind you would like to buy? Alternatively if you already have what you want then it would be nice of you to post a few pics

You were unloading bricks from the front seat when one slipped, disengaged the e-brake and landed on the gas pedal while the car was pointed towards a cliff........what......weirder **** has happened.

In the car market I really like the Infiniti M series and the new BMW M6. For something a little less expensive but still a good driving car I like the Infiniti G37, it's got a good engine and a good balance of good handling and comfortable ride. My favorite vehicle of any type but in the reasonable price range is the Infiniti FX37. It sits up a little higher but still drives like a car. It has plenty of power and again that great combination of handling and comfort. I also love several of the Jags but to be honest have not actually driven one.

It's obvious that I favor Infiniti vehicles. I do like their styling and design, but it's more about the combination of drivability and comfort. They just get that combination right, and at a reasonable price. Of course a BMW is going to handle better and a Lexus will be slightly more comfortable, but both of those are too far out on the extreme ends of the spectrum for me. I want something in the middle and the Infiniti nails it for me. We drove a couple Cadillac models that had a good mix as well, but those were just too garish and 'bling' for my tastes, not a fan of their stuff at all.

I don't like Acura for the most part, most seem to be Honda with (only slightly) nicer interiors. With a couple exceptions I'm not a big Lexus fan, though their ISF and GS are nice and sporty. Mercedes have some nice models but are hit or miss for me, if I was going that route I'd want an AMG model which I cannot afford. Audi is another brand I really like, although many of their sedans are kinda boring on the outside they have nice interiors and drive fairly well.

Nothing from the big 3 really impresses me that much. I can't see a Camaro without replaying scenes from the Transformers movies in my head and the interior is just awful in that car (yes I know muscle is about high end interior). The Mustang is ok I guess but everybody's got one. The Charger and Challenger are OK and the charger at least has a decent interior, but honestly neither excites me once you get inside the car, which is where you'll be spending most of your time. Really, I think the best vehicle that Chrysler makes right now is the Jeep Grand Cherokee (alleged reliability issues aside). I've spent considerable time in one and it's really a fantastic vehicle, great looking inside and out and the drive isn't too horrible. That must be a Mercedes design because I don't think Chrysler is capable of doing something that good on their own.

We have an FX and a Toyota 4Runner (2010) and really like both for their respected uses. The 4Runner is really the only Toyota I like, most of their other models like the Camry, Highlander, Avalon etc are booooooring. Some people think my 4Runner is ugly with it's funky lights and body work that bulge out a bit, but I'm okay with that. At least it has enough of a design feature such that it can be considered ugly or appalling, or in my case cool looking - good or bad it has some character. The Camry and others commit an automotive crime that's much more egregious, they have no style at all. They neither offend or please, they just simply exist and have no character or soul, this is much worse than being ugly in my book.

Obviously more of a response than you were looking for, obviously I'm highly opinionated and don't claim to be right, but those are my thoughts nonetheless.

That Toyburu is a damn fine handling car. It's not a beast power-wise but makes up for it with crazy good handling. I couldn't do that as a daily driver, but it would be fun as a track car.

Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van RV conversion.

I drove one last year and even going 70mph I still got 18mpg.

Depending on the model they can sleep up to six, have a real shower and flush toilet, and a queen size bed in it's own closed off bedroom. So it is actually acceptable to women.

I've been eyeing the new Mazda 6 with sky active engine. 185 hp (enough most of the time) and 39 Hwy MPG. Currently have a 2010 Mazda 3 Hatch 2.5 Grand Touring. I really like the car but could use a little more room and better gas mileage. If they sold the Euro model 6 wagon, I'd be in line tomorrow and find a way to make it happen.

I'd be happy to upgrade my Passat to a 6 cylinder. I just need a little more power than what I've got.
Of course, then I'd lose the 35 mpg I'm averaging:sad:

The wife wants a Lexus SUV like a RX330 or 350. Don't know why though, it's just the 2 of us. She also likes the Acura MDX but it's worse on gas and I can't stand that plastic silvery front end on all Acura's. I've driven the Lexus suv's before, drives just like their cars, smooth/quiet, no road noise like you get from lesser Suv's.

I may just buy an even older rx300 just to see if she really likes driving an SUV before spending big coin on newer. She's only driven smaller cars like Honda's her whole life so that's a big change.

Now me.....I'd rather get the Lexus LS460 with the executive package. Rear entertainment system.....massaging and reclining rear seats. Or the SC 430 convertible, always wanted one but here in Chicago that top down time is limited.

Watch the weather forecast for torrential rains. Park it in a known flood spot. While I've seen instances of arson proved in a car burning, I have never seen them prove you flooded it.

Me? I just want a truck. I have an Infinity G35 right now, and while a great car, just not what I need.

They gave me a m37 for a loan on a routine service day and it is a totally different car than the m56. I have now requested to only get the qx56 as a loaner when I bring my m in. The g coupe is the the only thing thats close to the m56 in my opnion. Dont test drive the m56 if you are looking at the m37,you will not want the m37 afterwards.

When the 4runner is paid off, I'm going to get another "fun car", as I hate I had to let the S4 go. I know it's a bit outlandish, but I think I'd want a used Porsche 911 Carerra next. I've seen some online that are anywhere from 4-6 years old, less than 30k miles, and are in the $40-50k range.

Lofty goal, and I know the repair costs would be out the ear, but that would be the nice thing about having a newish Toyota in the driveway. If the 911 broke down and I couldn't afford to fix it for a couple of months, I'd have a lovely driveway ornament and still have the 4runner for a daily driver.

Wife and I have been going round and round. She has a Scion tC and I keep pushing her to get an FR-S.
But she keeps pushing back that the tC is paid for.
So I counter that if she doesn't get an FR-S, then I will just have to buy the Audi RS5 coupe I want...

    That shuts her right up!
