I don't think they planned for the authorities to be so hot on their trail so soon. Probably figured they had time to plan a way to get out of town after the intensity of the situation slowed down. Will be interesting to see what comes off of their 'puters. Maybe will give a better insight as to their intentions.

I think this just shows they weren't the brightest bulbs in the chandelier. They should have had flights booked that night, and have been long gone by now.

The MIT cop was said to be the first on scene at the robbery...

You're right, these kids clearly did not think things through especially being so easily seen at a high profile event...at the finish line none the less!

OK...according to the mass state police, the suspects had nothing to do with the robbery....???
But they just happened to be there putting gas in their car, then carjack another car...Here come the media holes...

Might a well as wait a week and get the real story.

Agreed! But real story from who? It seems, as of late, the more time that passes the more convoluted these stories become. I feel it would have been more appropriate to have the public out looking for them than to have them hide in their homes. Pretty pissed off town after killing an 8 year old. I would not think the perps would fair well in the hands of the populous. I also don't get the bomb sniffing dog thing. What are they trained to find? Bomb POPS? There were dogs all over the place and they didn't sniff these dudes out? IED's are the stinkiest devices around, shy a truck of manure.

With coincidental ongoing "drills" in the area, full National Guard and police actions at the time, in that area?

    Completely shut down Boston Mass?
Cabs, business', public transportaion, any trains, in or out, cell phone service, yada, yada.

    Looking for a 19 year old?

I hope they find him also, alive, and my prayers are to the victims families.
Useless tragedy, the whole country is saddened by this crime.

Perhaps escape wasn't in the plan, but just became a necessity. It's my understanding that at least one device didn't explode. I also believe they had some explosives when being persued. I'm thinking those that did explode may have done so earlier than planned, and the ones they still have just didn't get deployed.

I believe they wanted to go out "in a blaze of glory" and escape mattered little to nothing to them. Therefore they really didn't need an escape plan. If you recall, a few years ago, many European nations, as well as former Soviet Republics had problems with some Chechins. AT the same time, the U.S. classified them as terrorists, not an occupied territory.

I have a feeling there is still a little resentment in that area of the world toward the U.S. Many people will blame others for their poor choices, weather the are just or not.

I would like to give the definition of Prelude, to anyone that is interested.

"The prelude can be thought of as a preface. It may stand on its own or introduce another work."

A bit off topic, but relevant to the above. I recently find myself needing to "renew" my 15 year old daughter's passport at the Local Office at our Post Office. I was told I need to have BOTH parents (who are citizens like her) appear with "her", the old passport and a BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Her original (she was born in this town). How's that for NO criteria? I'd be careful about sweeping statements about how easy this or that is these days!

    cnh

Passport out and passport in are two entirely different things. Might be the reason no one wants to become legal. Too many hoops and not enough gimmies if you are actually a citizen.

The real difficult situations are for those who lost their lives and limbs. That which cannot be undone by the capture of the perpetrators, unfortunately.

Alive or dead, he won't be hurting anymore Americans and thats a sign of relief. Kudos to all the law enforcement involved and the determination they used among various agencies to grab these 2.

Now, having said that, I wish they'd go after the other idiots who murder at will with the same determination. I'll stop there.

I'd have to disagree, F1. He has been declared a terrorist, so the government now can hold him indefinitely. No habeas corpus, no lawyers, no family/friends visits. He can be officially declared disappeared. No government official has to explain where he is, why he's been held, what's being done with him or to him, nothing.
If he were dead, he can't talk.
If he's alive, he will talk. And share what he knows. IMO, these two "kids" didn't act on their own, they were handled and directed. By whom ? That's what we can now find out. If that's the case, the people who are linked to them would have to be realizing that they're in a boatload of trouble themselves, too.
