Explosion at the marathon

God bless all those who are affected by this.

I was having a great day with my new/old purchase and now I can't bring myself to have any joy. I don't mean to sound selfish but I wish in a way I didn't put the news on.

Sad to say I was wondering when the next thing like this was going to happen. It sucks big time. Will be interesting to see who claims responsibility...

"The shot heard 'round the world" refers to April 19th, 1775. It has since become 'Patriots Day' in MA. The 2 celebrations on its day of observance are the Boston Marathon, and Opening day at Fenway park.
I strongly suspect, this is the work of a Tim McVeigh wannabe:cry:

    In response to jhayman:

So you think this is something that would only happen in Boston?
Hate to say this but this could have happened anywhere...even your own home town.
Does that mean you would move out of your home town if some tragedy happened there?

That is the kind of fear and worry people like this want and by hiding under a blanket, you give the sick **** the exact kind of reaction they are hoping for.

I hate to put it that way but that's how it is. These people want you afraid to go anywhere or do anything. They win when the reaction is, "Well we were going to go to <insert place> but we heard about <insert incident> so we have decided to go to <insert other place>."

Based on what and what kind of statement is that to make?!? But....relax, it'll be OK. However, put any other color (or nation or religion of origin) in place of "white" in your off-base statement and we're talkin' about an instant banning!

Of course that's what they want Fear, unfortunately I have a 14 yr old, and both of us just lost, him his mother and my wife to Cancer 2 yrs ago.
So it's only him and myself so I have bigger things to worry about.
If I was single no problem.
My son is the most important person in the world to me so I would rather not take that chance plenty of other places to visit in Obama land..
And in my post you will see the word"think" which means just that..

Where did you get Amish from? And BTW all officials are refuting the claim that a suspect is in custody.

There are plenty of Caucasian Saudis, but I was referring to a "homegrown" bomber.

That came from a report from The New York Post.

I do not know if it is true or not.

I was being sarcastic/facetious when I said "The Amish". Likely no Amish on the Club Polk site via computer so I hoped I did not offend.

Seems like the work of terrorists. Most likely Islamic (imagine that), but maybe domestic looney(s) since it happens to be April 15 (tax day).

Again...whether stated as a guess or not, put any other color (or nation or religion of origin) in place of "white" in your off-base statement and we're talkin' about an instant banning!

Just my observation, that it's just fine to make any kind of statement anyone wants to make about whites (specifically males) and there's rarely (very!) any statement of disgust over it. However, the whole world is up in arms when any similar statement is made about anyone else.

Also, it's my guess that you can also throw in Christians, specifically Catholics, as fair game for any statement, no matter how outrageous, that one cares to utter.

I don't think 3 seperate explosions would be the work of one individual. One person could conciecably plant 3 seperate devices, but others would have helped in planning and aquiring materials. I think the "single person is responsible" will be discounted within 24 hours, probably sooner.

The Boston Marathon is a fairly high profile event. Marathons actually have a larger international audience than a national one. This would lead me to believe that this act was more likely the work of some group of foreign origin. Not necessarily from the Middle East, but of some foregn nationality.

When a "home grown" terrost decides to do something crazy, he will normally target some government agency/person, rather than an event. Even though the JFK library was targeted, it was more than likely, a bonus. A foundation that honored a former President that just happened to be in close proximity of the marathon.

Prayers to all involved. We'll see how this all shakes out, and hopefully get some clues as to who was responsible. These situations are very dynamic, I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet...
