OK, that was easy, must have taken 15 minutes and my back will be killing me tomorrow, those puppies are heavy. I put the Onkyo into pure direct, 2 amp channels per SDA, 1 to the center, and playing some Sarah Brightman duets and it's the best my SDA's have sounded. No smoking in my house.

Dekuda...was/is the person I purchased the Parasound 5250 from...and it works. Perhaps the MODERATORS can give him a good mark for a good sale.

I hope they just need to be broken in, its rather sad right now :(

With the upgraded woofers i should keep the polyfill still in the cabinet right?

    What's wrong with the bass?

My understanding with the DB sub it became alot tighter and less boom... ?

That's weird. Trey nailed it exactly as to the results I got from this upgrade. It did take a bit to get to that point, but I did notice a slight improvement immediately.

I think right now it might be worse than factory. I am going to try putting one of the factory drivers back in and test. Is there anything special i have to do with the Poly fill, i just kinda stuffed it in there and made sure it wasnt blocking the port.

You have to let the woofers break in and crossovers burn in. It will take at least 200 hours for the crossovers.

Given though that my LSi15's were brand new they shouldnt have even been broken in with the factory drivers/crossovers right? Should it then not be better then stock?

On a side note i was thinking, arent the connectors for +/- sized differently so that i couldnt reverse the polarity?

It might be if the big terminal is positive one and negative on the other.

When I was testing the crossovers if the woofer was oriented a certain way, basically out of phase, then in another direction, in phase it had tons of bass... Which is how it should be.

The bass driver is technically out of phase to the mids at the crossover, but plugs up in phase to the driver.

Yeah i remember that its out of phase at the crossover when i was testing the dead one i thought it was odd lol (but im no audio engineer)

Ill bet something is out of phase, i remember i put the center channel back together first and i tested that on my little mini emotiva amp and i was impressed with the bass that it had lol. but the mains are severely lacking.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to help you figure out what's wrong, but something is amiss. The driver upgrade isn't going to turn them into slamming party speakers, but the bass should definitely improve over stock...especially if you've done the XO and driver upgrade.

Yeah im not expecting it to be super bass crazy but it lacks really and warmth to it right now. Ill play around with the drivers to one make sure the speakers are in phase with each other and then two make sure the drivers are correctly in phase
