    dorokusai/ Mark

My posts are completely direct and upfront. In my case, "a cigar is just a cigar." I've got a very large task in front of me. To:

    1. Locate this gear.
    2. Collect/purchase this gear if it's even reasonably possible for me to do so.

So, I'm selling NOTHING. But hoping to purchase if everything lines up for me. The only "red flag" with me is the problematic irritation/rash of having to jump through fiery hoops just so I can simply "LOOK" through some "for sale" ad's. I'm new to this forum stuff. So, if there's some kind of prescribed "etiquette" I'm supposed to follow, then perhaps I may be forced to learn it before I find my stuff.

    If I find my stuff.

Forcing a brand new member to submit to this doesn't sound like a very friendly community, now does it?

I don't know what kind of problems this or any other forums have. I'm not interested in that. What I am interested in, is viewing items for sale, possibly purchasing, and then going on with my life.

I appreciate your overall explanation, Mark, thank you. At the same time please appreciate my view. Let me do what I want (find the gear I want without any hassles a.k.a. writing 100 posts) and in my own time. Then when I'm ready, perhaps I'll have something constructive to contribute to the community in a relaxed fashion.

But, that's not what's going to happen here. I have to do the reverse. The prerequisite seems to be, to get all warm and fuzzy, kiss some butt, and let everyone know I'm a team player, BEFORE I can go on with my search through the for sale ad's. Now THAT is absurd. What I thought was going to be simple, clearly is not.

This seemed like the ideal place to get the bulk or all of my SRT needs fulfilled for my little project. But, now it seems that it's going to be much more of a problem for me than it's worth. I do hope I'm wrong. Time will tell.

    P.S.

My posts are very much the same. Some well received....some less than but I'd seriously ask you to take a step back and take part in the forum before passing judgement based solely on the fact you need something. The wealth of knowledge here is greater than I can absorb and I work here. I can't possibly touch on the knowledge that Esavinon has about SRT, nor the vintage knowledge that Mhardy and GeorgeGrand have about vintage products...I CONTINUE to learn here as well and I've been a member since 2003.

While I understand your initial frustration, I believe its unwarranted and not neccesary. As you stated, you have a project and need answers and/or have to move things on. All I can say is that you could have all of that and a cocktail if you just took the time to hang out.

We've, some of us moreso, have slaved for years to compile data and post public information.....raped the Polk archives for schematics, or done whatever it takes to make this THE PLACE to come for Polk knowledge. That I get, that I've done and I appreciate the MANY efforts of our members.

All that is required is an exchange of pleasantries....tall tales, war stories, outright lies and just poor humor at times. There's not a soul on this board who is so serious, well maybe one, but anyways.....that wouldn't bend over backwards to help another new member. Not a soul. When you post like you do.....you've lost 99% of the user base and those that are left probably don't know what you're talking about.

Good luck in your search and I can only wish you the best at this point since there's no need to get wordy or mean....as would be my normal style ha ha.

    Regards,
    Mark

Mhardy....is my hero when it comes to vintage gear. I still think he may be some kind of super computer though.....most humans can not know that much.....

George has the gear I've never seen before and mostly drool over. DK speaks on a level I am too dumb to understand.....though I still read what he says, sometimes twice over. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum. That is why i come back daily. That and I have a rather strange affinity to looking at and wanting different vintage speakers. Some look at ****, which I do to, but looking at speakers is **** to me in a weird way.

You had me at ......well just looking at you made me want to experiment a new reality Troy. Tell TLW that while she and Terrie are hanging out, we'll be handling our own gear trading. BTW, my wife has committed to coming next year for the very first time so I'm betting they're gonna be like two peas in a pod.

I'm betting you have trouble with society in general. If you actually knew TroyD, he actually is a man among men and you sir need help. Give it a rest or simply move on.
