I did call the guy and asked for more pics to get an idea of what generation these babies are.
Tony you and I are aligned - I offered him $1000 pending my inspection and he accepted. Tentatively I'll be heading out there on Sunday. They are on hold for me until then.
Serial numbers are 3418, 3930 but I have found after searching a bit that the numbers are useless cause there is no database (public at least) that will tell which generation they are. I may pull a MW off while I'm there just to confirm, but if they are truly are minty I'll get em!
He is the original owner, has not played them in quite some time, but cosmetically they are in excellent condition. We'll see!
Now I just have to break the news to the Mrs that we're taking a road trip!
Update - Working from home, ahem, the car tomorrow (easy for me as I do a lot of conference calls, video conferencing), so I'm doing a road trip! The Mrs gave me the ok, however I did not fully disclose the size of these speakers. "Just gonna pick up a pair of vintage speakers". One step at a time! The seller mentioned that he repainted them. He obviously didn't do a very good job. Too bad, nice speakers otherwise. -

No it was definitely Polk offical. They just dropped the SDA line before it was implemented. It was for the SDA2b and CRS+ since they both used the same crossover. -
Ok, Learned something new. I've only seen 4.1 associated with the CRS, and to date have not seen anything, literature wise, that touts the 4.1 nomenclature other than scant mentions of it here on the forum. That would explain their rarity.

But reading that approved mod schematic over (twice), I did NOT see any 4.1 designation anywhere, just an SK3k note at the top... -

Ok, I see that now. I'll have to get Ken or DK to update the model list as well. I'm in possession of an SDA 2 pair with the RTA 3 pin IC cable with SL1000 tweets. Once the 2.3s are put in their place, I'll formally document them for the revision.
