Drew you gotta celebrate a little bit with your new job and hopefully signing bonus!

I thought about picking up a SA-14S1 or a KI Pearl, but honestly my components are fine right now. The main thing limiting my system is the space that it's in.

So yeah, I'm going to stick with this current set of components for now, as I know the real limiting factor is the room. I can always upgrade my source/preamp at some point in the future. :)

Always room for an upgrade my friend! I often use some bonus money to buy something significant, so that when I look back at that thing, I can remember from where it came from. Gives me a little extra remembrance of that time, and satisfaction.

Polk sda srs 2.3s right? Says sda-srs 2 but they're 2.3s. Seems like a fair price.

If you don't, I will.... Just saying

    Go for it

Well, since the 15TLs I've been watching are sold(ish), these 2.3s are that much closer to reality... :o need to figure transportation... And how to keep the woman from noticing them for a while :#

I had a deal with a guy once and he was supposed to call me the next morn.. He didn't!

Then an old friend shows up at my house to show me what he just got bought...The speakers I was going to buy and that guy with the ad even told me I was first in line. :'(

But I hope Dave definitely gets to be the first to buy those since him and the man set up a time and day already. ;)

I do think that is a good price. I paid $500 for mine.

Hope you get them you'll love them! Love my pair!

As for ....."keeping the woman from noticing"..... Good luck! You do know how big these are? Right?
Only eight inches shorter and an inch narrower then the 1.2's and they weigh 141lbs a piece.......
So what do you tell her is hidden under the sheet? A new refrigerator?? Lol! ;)

No, at least not around here. Craigslist is littered with them, and so is eBay.

Heard of these before, I think you could use them with Monitor speakers. Sub you would wire in series (? maybe it was parallel, I'm not sure...) with your speakers.

Curb alert, although I doubt that these are still available. https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/ele/d/curb-alert-free-vintage/6699482779.htmlijp7jupzn78d.jpg

Wow... I hope they didn't get trashed, that's literally a steal.

I guess that explains the 30 dollar price tag. So much for trying to make a quick flip.

Seattle seems to have some half way decent deals.https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/ele/d/vintage-polk-sda-1c-speakers/6703372153.html23gajwn4tg8h.jpg
    160 dollars seems doable.
  • I would proceed with caution on those SDA-1Cs in Seattle.
After close examination of the serial numbers, it would appear that the Right Channel falls within the “interim” serial number range, while the Left Channel does not. This may create an issue if trying to use the AI-1 and a non-common ground amp, as the Right Channel will require some internal modifications.

Want to work towards monoblocks. My SRS are blade/blade and not made for that but are great and modded to the hilt. My SRS 2's could fund part of a set of 1.2's and they are modded up too and sound great too but same blade/blade.
