Is Polk Bringing Back the Heart In Their Logo?
Just saw the new logo after this forum update. I like it.
Anybody know if they're going to use it again for the emblem on their speakers like the old days?
That was my favorite Polk emblem.

Just wanted to say that I love the redesign. Looks like Polk is going for a more "vintage" feel, and I approve.

I like how the "Latest Listen" link on the home page takes you to the "What Are You Listening To?" thread here on the forum. I like the redesign!

Yep! Lets try to keep that clean...for obvious reasons
Did you forget who you are talking to? or maybe it was the all nighter you pulled...... -
took the 'audio' out of the name? could it mean Polk's expanding into more electronics as well? we need the scoop

Sooo stoked. I really liked the heart on the older Polk Audio badges. I bought a few for my speakers and re-attached them.
I may have to buy upgraded speakers now.Receiver

I agree, big improvement.
But, the CRS+ description is a little off - it describes it as a center channel.. -
Patrick you have done some great work here as the design looks really cool and gives everything a more upmarket look, Perfect for people coming here that shop for Lsim's ....... awesome

I think someone's been watching Hancock a few too many times. lol I heart!
I woke up this morning and loaded this page and thought there was a sale on wood flooring at Home Depot. I don't mean to seem harsh but this is a bit tacky! It's also makes for "slower" scrolling for those of us who don't have breakneck internet speeds.
Finally, you know I "heart" you tech boys. But design and creativity are skills do not naturally accrue to those who just happen to be more technically proficient.

The font reminds me of the very first Polk product...

The wood paneling is... just... funny. Not "ha-ha" funny. Just... odd.
EDIT: Speaking of early Polk history; an interesting tidbit:

The new site is sweet. Good job!

Figured it was something along those lines. A logo change is a pretty big deal for a company. Some spend thousands just on the logo design. Not something a webmaster could just do on their own. This looks like a shift in the way the company wants to be perceived, and I really like it. Got that old-school 70's feel to it.
And just you wait, big speakers will become fashionable again!

Works for me!
Thanks for sharing the PR, sir. -
it is very nice, it looks like Polk wants to tell us that they use "REAL WOOD" on their speakers.Make it simple...Make it better!

Now that things are slowing down, I wanted to answer a few questions thsat have been raised here. First, thanks to all who have been supportive of the new website and logo. To the others, I am sorry we've dissapointed you. I remember when we changed from the original polkaudio with the heart over the i. There was hair pulling and gnashing of teeth and that was just me. You should have seen the forum - i was looking both ways before leaving the office and doing mental calculations as to whether I could make it to my car before Jessie could run me over with his truck. (some of you remember and some of you were here but no longer remember).
Now to address a few of the previous posts.
Dropping "audio" was not that hard a call. Most who know the brand refer to Polk this and Polk that. Now the onus is on Marketing to bring the message and brand to those who have never heard of us.
You guessed it, we're really dropped audio so we could name our 17 gelato stores, opening in the fall, Polksicle.
I'm sure Patrick is flattered that you credit him with the new site. He rightfully deserves a great amount of praise as does his trusty sidekick, Nick. Together they built the content management system that dirves the site. Mere mortals buy templates for third party software but not Patrick. He's custom all the way. And I appreciate that. He and Nick spent most of last night pulling everything together, finally flipping the switch sometime after two am. Patrick stopped by top see me around 10:30 this morning to tell me that he was going home.
We started this project over a year ago. During that time we've had four writers, three designers, three editors, two photographers, an ad agency, two web programmers and one UFO working to bring this site to life. All deserve high praise for their contributions, their patience and fortitude. I am truly grateful to each and every one. Now the site is up, our fourth total redo since opening in 1994. There is much still to do. You can help by letting us know when you see something that's not right. Or if you have a suggestion for improving the site. Reach out to me, Patrick or Jon.
