To change the subject from speaker gaskets to applying Dynamat Xtreme on drivers:

Having just applied Dynamat to the first five of sixteen drivers, I offer a couple of time-saving tips to others who might undertake this process:

First, when you buy the Dynamat, buy flat sheets, not those that have been rolled or folded. Much time is spent flattening the wrinkles and ridges in the folded sheets.

Second, a small round dowel rod, round pencil, or simple Bic ballpoint pen serves as a great "rolling pin" to flatten the Dynamat on the drivers.

Not technical, but I hope it helps others.

I bought a rolled up pack and used scissors to cut. Don't over think this guys.

I forgot there is this round foam in rolls ( I use the 3/8" ) its for when you need to lay a bead of sealant ( for example around a swimming pool ) the liquid sealant is expensive so you unroll these foam round stuff and push it in the crevice below the surface and fill the crevice up with the selant , the sealant they used was a rubber like liquid and the foam allowed them to use much less .
Well I sealed my hole top plate on my subs with it , I have a removable top .
Works niceit must have got flattened under 1/16th and when I took the top off later it repuffed to about twice its flattend size so its a great gasket , only problem is its grey .

It's marketed as "Caulk Saver", or the generic "backer rod". Since it's made from either polyurethane or polyether foam, it will have a finite lifespan of 10 to 20 years. Polyurethane having the shorter lifespan. It will either dry out, or turn to goo eventually. Same stuff they make foam speaker surrounds out of.

This just reminded me of all the Silly Putty I bought for my daughters while they were young. I wonder how that would work? A little to "springy," I would guess!
