Is CP really in place to provide a market for makers/sellers of various power cables, etc. ? Isn't that what ebay and commercial web sites are for ? Just askin'.

It sure seems that you have to debate or argue everything especially with certain members. You seem to be a man that has to feel he has some sense of control (low self esteem?)
After reading (and just now re-reading) the thread opener, this seemed to be a thread where everyone was invited to participate and give thoughts. It just so happened that my first post related to the content in F1's post, so that is the one I chose to reply to. He then replied to me, and I once again replied to him. Last I checked, conversation between members was permitted without distinction as to who may talk to who. While we may disagree on certain aspects of the discussion, there were no insults or arguing that I noticed between us here; just a simple discussion.

Or, to put it another way, I fail to see the problem. Perhaps you can clarify?

Every state, county, city, town, etc. across America has different rules/laws. Do you check them when you travel outside of your little part of the world or do you use a little common sense to stay out of jail.
Right... and not every law is interpreted the same. Mods are the judge/jury. Let them use some common sense and discretion. I don't think the forum rules need to be explicit to such a degree.

Right. That's why it should be up to Polk Audio to make the call. This thread isn't meant to be a venue for expressing opinions; this thread is meant to be a catalyst for Polk Audio to clearly define the law.

edit: don't get me wrong, I do enjoy, and value, all of our member's opinions...

Really, I don't think "Polk Audio" does or should care about this either way. Their business is speakers, not running a forum, and certainly not weighing in and setting rules for FM sales. I think it's fine the way it is... sure there's the occasional issue, but if the new member is sincere, they can certainly make it to 100. And should they not realize what they've done by "breaking the rules" (I really do think a few have done it unintentionally), there's always someone here to show them the error of their ways. Again, if they're sincere about being a member, they'll stick around. If not, they'll go away. No loss.

Yeah I guess an internet forum with exposure to the entire world truly is much like a tight-knit, gated community. Neither self nor group delusion is an activity I care to partake of, as always, YMMV. If holding up a mirror is equivalent to "trolling"......

My neighborhood newsletter is not published to provide a market for babysitting services offered by teenage girls in the neighborhood. Goods and services ads are a very small part of the newsletter. Girls offering babysitting services could put an ad in any one of the local newspapers. However, most people hiring babysitters prefer to deal with someone they know. Most teenage girls prefer to babysit for families they know.

Some concepts require a certain level of maturity to adequately grasp. Obviously, the concept of a community resource only being available to active members of the community is beyond your comprehension. It is not a matter of fearing or loathing the unknown.

Where did the babysitters come from ? I was only referring to the "interloper" advertising an autombile in a newsletter. It's really not what I would term a threat or even very much of an intrusion, and, something that's easily taken note of or ignored according to your "bent". I might possess comprehension and maturity way in excess of your estimation, or not . Good day sir.

Yea, I don't think it's a big deal, I just wanted some direction from the powers that be. And when I was referring to "Polk Audio", I just meant the mods.

    Cheers,

I must admit that I was a touch too abrasive in some of my posts as of late, a barrage of kidney stones and a congestive heart failure diagnosis will tend to make me a little grumpier than my usual, sparkling self. Apologies to all. (except nooshberries)
